  1. 1. This article is about a new app developed by Disney that connects to specially made coloring books. They function as a sort of augmented reality toy, and by coloring in the characters, they're colored in on the on-screen 3D sprites. It attaches the illustrator much more to their creation, and it's supposedly kinda fun to watch the colored-in characters dance around on the screen.

    2. It's fantastic for little kids; they can see their creations that they made themselves come to life and sing and dance just like they do in the cartoons they watch. I'd say it's definitely not for me (if they had an anime version of this, I would be PSYCHED), but I can definitely see the appeal to the 3-7-year-old.

    3. I would definitely use this app once I have kids; if I ever needed them to stay occupied and I had a tablet free, I'd sit them down with some colored pencils and this book, pull up the app, and let them color.

  2. 1. This article discusses a new app that Disney studios has created that uses a specialized coloring book to create a 3DS AR experience. With this it gives children a real life 3D version of their colored creations, through the eyes of a smartphone.

    2. It seems like an interesting idea, but I could imagine that the coloring books would be quite expensive, because Disney needs their money, of course. With franchising all the Disney classics it could be a big hit with the children.

    3. I have no need for this app, but it would be a cool gimmick for the first five minute just to see how the implemented the features of augmented reality.

This article is about the disney 3D app, that takes items that you draw on a page, and superimposes the drawing as a texture put on a model. This model is juxtaposed to the flat surface of the book and the tablet can use accelerometer data to allow the user to look around the model by moving the tablet around the synthesized figure.

2.What is your opinion of the app? (Give a full explanation)
It’s a very fun technology, and is a good use of the augmented reality software that they have been working on. But, it has its limitations. First of all, it would only be able to work on models that have already been uploaded to the app. The drawing does not generate the model. The drawing is just a texture that is placed on a premade model. This would make it impossible to implement new drawing or models.

    3. Would you use this app? What would you use the app for? (Explain in detail
This app is very fun. But, I cannot imagine a single use case scenario that I would have for this app. I suppose one interesting thing you could do with it is use the technology to add textures to online games. You could use a very similar upload system like what is found in Minecraft. In this game, you can upload custom textures to your in-game character model, to make your character look like anything you want. You could use this drawing system of modeling for other games that have higher resolution textures.

  4. 1.This article is about Disney's new coloring book app that uses shading and your drawings and turns it into a 3D virtual figure.

2.I think this app is great in many ways but the two main things that come to my mind are Designers and Children. For designers going from gaming to animation in movies this app would allow the person to see the sketch character they made and see it in a light that would show it is as a virtual character. For kids this app would expand their imagination and make them want to be more artistic just to see their own pieces of art in new ways and just a tablet or phone.

    3. I would use the app to bring drawings or ideas for maybe a game or animation to life. I would use it to examine the flaws and corrections i have done and make it so that the drawing i have on the paper is exactly like the one in my mind.

  5. 1. This article is about augmented reality and how it "holds unique and promising potential to bridge between real-world activities and digital experiences, allowing users to engage their imagination and boost their creativity" - Robert Summer. It's like those Nintendo Cards for the 3DS, where it makes a flat image into a 3D figure. http://www.nintendo.com/3ds/ar-cards

    2. I like it. It seems very intriguing to be able to draw on a flat surface and have it come out like a fully colored figurine. Seems pretty cool for kids.

    3. I would not use this app, I think it's more for the creative, artistic mind.

  6. 1. This article is showing off an app that can create 3D models of your drawing, in a Disney coloring book, through the devices camera.

    2. This technology is pretty neat, considering the model changes as you color it. But I can't think of any other ideas with this teach that someone else hasn't come up with.

    3. I don't think I would use this app, but my sister would. Anything with Disney on it makes her go nuts.

  8. 1.The article talks about Disney latest and greatest tech. What it does is essentially bring an artist's creation to life by creating a 3d model of it. This can and will give artists a whole new perspective on the way they make art.
    2. It is a great idea and a step in the right direction. It makes it easier for the artist to get a new angle on their creation and fix any possible errors or add pieces they didn't think about beforehand
3.I always was A. bad at art and B. never cared for it so this app really doesn't speak to me personally

  9. 1. This article is about a new disney technology. This app allows you to take a 2 dimensional drawing and "Bring it to life" in your compatible device.

    2. It is a great idea, in concept, but it would have to actually work. There is always some exception to how this will work and under what conditions it will work.

    3. Probably not because I suck at art and I honestly couldn't care less. Also, I have a grudge with disney.

  10. 1. Similarly to how Disney created a Splatoon knockoff called "Squid Wars", Disney again took inspiration from the Ninendo 3ds 'AR-card' system when they designed their new app,

    2. I think the app is a very cool application of 3D modeling technology. Some applications simply load 3d models based on a scanned code, or picture. This however, adds variation to the concept. I think kids would absolutely love this.

    3. I couldn't see myself using an app like this because it seems a bit boring to me. I'm not saying its a boring concept, I just feel like it is a minor variation to coloring books. This will probably lead to other developers creating similar apps, so I'm interested to see how far this concept will go.

  11. 1. The Disney 3D app is the latest Disney app on the market, pairing coloring books with technology. This app allows for the user to color in the book, then use the app to view their drawing in 3D- quite an interesting idea.

    2. Personally, I am not a huge fan of it- I just don't see many practical uses for it. While it is an interesting concept, I do not see myself coloring in books then using the Disney 3D app to view this drawing in three dimensions. It could be interesting to search for other uses for it, though.

    3. No, I wouldn't. I'm not all to into coloring, and even though it adds another dimension to coloring, I find that pointless. So what if you can look at your tablet and find a three-dimensional image- it still looks exactly the same as it does on the paper.

  12. 1) The Disney 3D app is the most recent app on market. Combining 3D and coloring books to allow the user to color in a the book then view it as a 3D image.

    2) I personally think that it's not really something that I would really be using in my life time, though while the 2D to 3D is cool I just don't see a reason why I would use it.

    3) No, I wouldn't; coloring and drawing isn't my forte even if the image goes from regular two-dimensional figures to three, it still doesn't peak my interest.

  14. 1. Augmented Reality is a program that detects a certain pattern of drawing and relates it to a character that it can reflect as a 3d character and animate it. This way, stupid little kids can literally watch their drawings come to life, instead of exercising their imaginations by creating their stories in their own heads.
    2. This is a pretty fun idea and I would enjoy it myself, but in the end, it’s just another little toy. This is a fun gadget, but why spend time and money on it over any other fun little toy.
    3. I might use this app if I ever get bored and have time to spare. Maybe after I retire at the age of 35. Then my grandkids will laugh at me as I play with “ancient” kids toys.

  15. 1.) Disney 3D is designed to make your coloring book come to life in a 3D aspect and to make little children weep tears of excitement and make parents annoyed as hell to have even conceived their children.

2.) I think it's given a little bit too futuristic to the public than it actually is, and what I mean by that is that it probably has more bugs than features and doesn't look at all futuristic as it seems in the ads.

3.) I do not find any advantages this app provides. So therefore, I will not use this app. Maybe my children would use it.... Maybe..

  16. 1. This is about a drawing board that you color on and use an app to see your creation in animated 3D on the paper.
    2. I think it's pretty cool but this technology has been around for quite a while. If you watch a youtuber named Jerma, you may have seen his videos on a playstation technology known as the Wonder Book that puts 3D animations on the book.
    3. I would not. I'm not good at drawing and it doesn't really interest me too much. The only way I would use this app is as a gift for my girlfriend Sara, since she's an artist and it would be cool to see what she could do with that.

  17. 1. This is an app that Disney is developing that brings coloring books to life. Certain coloring books that they make will work with the app. It is a form of augmented reality, when you aim the camera down at the coloring book, the character on the page will become animated and do different actions. Then, as the user colors, the animated character will have those colors on it.

    2. I wish they would have had this when I was a kid. This is really cool for kids, and might get them more into the world of technology.

    3. This would be great for a science class, to see how atoms work.
