  1. 1. The Glowforge is a crowd-sourced laser cutter and laser engraver for craft projects. Its price clocks in at almost $2500, but you get a 3D engraver that can work with materials as delicate as paper and as tough as wood or leather.

    2. This thing... is SERIOUSLY AWESOME. It can do work like the Cricut from a few years ago on far more materials than paper, and it connects to your computer via wifi and a simple AC plug. For as much functionality as it provides, its price tag of $2500 is surprisingly low.

    3. Oh man, if I got a hold on this thing, I'd actually use it to make cosplay and costumes and stuff, since it's able to work with fabric. I'd also make mods for my PC case with it, adding little designs out of acrylic or leather or something to make it look interesting.

  3. 1. The Glowforge is a laser cutter specifically designed for usability. All of the software is on the cloud, in order to decrease costs and make it easier to use. The Glowforge laser cutter is incredibly easy to use in comparison to a normal laser cutter- simply upload a picture, load the material, and press the glowing button on the body of the machine. The laser in the apparatus is large enough to cut most materials- it is possible to cut everything from wood, to the metal cover of a Macbook.

2.The Glowforge is a fantastic tool for its price. It has enough applications to be able to do almost anything that you can throw at it- it can cut through up to a quarter inch of material, easily enough to satisfy my needs and the needs of most people. Its $2000 price tag is completely out of my budget, but from what I have gathered, that number is quite cheap compared to the rest of the market.

    3. I am not sure what I would make, but I know that there are many applications I can think of for this laser cutter. The Glowforge would be perfect for anything that needs to be precisely cut but thin.

  4. 1. Glow forge is a precision laser cutter that can create any design you input. The cuts are as precise and thin as a human hair. Then you can take out your design and create whatever it is you wanted.
2.For anyone interested in laser cutters this is a solid deal, but as someone more interested in cars i could really care less about getting my hands on one
    3. If i got this i would create a replica of the machine out of tinfoil, then smash the replica. Then sell it for 2300$ and buy stuff for my Jeep

  5. 1. What is the Glowforge? Describe in detail.
The Glowforge is a new CO2 Laser Engraver and Cutting tool that sets itself apart by its user-friendly design. It uses a system of cameras in order to optically configure the print-bed and scan in the materials the program. With most laser-cutting systems currently on the market, you have to manually configure where the laser prints on the material, depth of the cut, and a whole sort of other variables. Inserting code into most modern laser-cutters is a pain as well. You often have to turn the image into an SVG format and then convert the image into G-code and then finally import the code to a controller using an interface such as GRBL. In short, most modern laser cutters take hours to set up, and errors are hard to troubleshoot. The Glowforge takes all of this trouble away through a simple web interface that does all the hard work for you. It has a massive library of all the materials and settings that you could ever dream of cutting into.

    2. What's you opinion of the Glowforge Explain why? Do your research.
I think it is amazing. The Glowforge is the Mac of the laser cutting world. It’s not as versatile as other options. But it's incredibly user-friendly and very easy to set up. This laser cutter is the next evolution of the laser engraver. It brings the power of an industrial tool into the home in a small, quiet, and beautiful form factor. I intend to buy one within the next 2 years. Once the laser engraver is given the ability to engrave round objects using a stepper motor attachment, I will buy it in order to add complex inlays in my turned objects.

    3. What would you make with the Glowforge if you had one?
Like I said with my previous answer, I would use the Glowforge for my turned objects to make complex inlays in my turned objects. If the Glowforge gets a rotary attachment, (which has been a rumored addition for a while now), I could use it to engrave guidelines for carving the spindles that I make on the lathe.

  6. 1. The Glowforge is a 3D laser cutter/engraver. The simpler/basic version of it costs around $1,000 but the pro version is around $2,500. You're able cut tons of different kinds of material, and engrave them as well. I think it's crazy that a laser can engrave such soft materials like fabric and paper and not go straight through it.
    2. This is amazing! I would LOVE if the school had one that people could use (or at least GenYES could use). This looks really cool and you could make a ton of things with it.
    3. I would make a ton of things with the spare materials at home. I could carve blocks of wood into stuff I could actually use or just have it made for aesthetics. Plus, I could engrave a ton of things like any toys, my wallet, my phone case, and maybe if I trust it enough, engrave my gaming mouse to look even cooler!

  7. 1. Dan Shapiro is the CEO and founder of Glowforge, a laser 3D printer. The video show many examples of what the Glowforge can use as material, what programs are capaple with it and other incredible unqiue specs that no other 3D I've seen has. For materials the website lists these wood, fabric, leather, paper, cardboard, plexiglas (acrylic), Delrin (acetal), sandpaper, mylar, foods and more. It also says that, software wise, it's "Compatible with JPG, PNG, TIF, SVG, AI, DXF, PDF, and many more file formats."

    2. I honestly think that the Glowforge is a really neat idea. I never really saw of 3D printers being useful in your home, but the commercial gave examples I never thought of. Overall the Glowforge seems to have been made to be a family friendly 3D printer.

    3. If purchased a Glowforge I would a SKT T1 Jacket and then get plastic surgery to look like Faker, then secretly kidnap him and take over his life as the best zed player in the #Worlds.

  9. 1.) Glowforge is a laser 3D printer designed to create your own things or add on to them. Creating meaning creating projects and items in an artistic way and do it efficiently. Adding on like designing the back of your MacBookPro for free.

2.) I honestly think it's just another 3D printer. Although if I ever wanted one, I would come to this and buy it.

3.) If I had a Glowforge I would 3D print the face of thine enemies and then beat it until it breaks and then 3D print the blood of thine enemies and place it on top of it.

  10. 1. Glowforge is a printer which engraves a 3D image onto some type of wood or metal or many other different materials. It can cut out logos onto materials and it outlines perfect shapes and sizes onto materials as well.

    2. This is the most useful 3D printing machine iv'e seen, if your a youtuber, you could use this to create logos for whatever you need them for and i'm sure you could come up with a way to use them to create apparel for your market if your doing twitch or youtube.

    3. I would try to make custom t-shirts that look cool or something around those lines. I would also use it to create boards like skateboards cause why not. Burn some plastic and also toss in some metal for a keyboard made fore me cause im the best.

    1. There should be a question mark at the end of "why not" sir.
And it should also be for, not "fore".

  11. 1. It is a laser 3D printer. It cuts the outline of the image or text you want, then burns the filling in, making an engraving in a material or fabric that you would want. It is works with a lot of different image formats, making it easy to use on the first time.

    2. I think it is an interesting expansion on wood working. I used to do similar things when I worked on carving and burning wood. This would help with making precise shapes, it's a lot easier this way, and would allow the person to mass produce.

    3. I would make a bunch of different things. From table tops with messages or symbols around the sides, to figures that I could sell.

  12. 1) It's a 3D laser printer. The Glowforge is. it can create many different things such as materials and designs for objects. You can use a touch screen device to operate the printer. The image and formats it works with are very vast so as to make many things compatible with it.

    2) It's quite a useful household machine for more reasons than one. There is an infinite realm of possibilities and many combinations to be tested with all the different materials.

    3) I would just make a bunch of designs for my laptop and other objects.

  13. 1. The GlowForge is a 3D priner/cutter/carver. It is one of the most advanced and user friendly options out there for the lowest cost. It sits at $1,000 dollars with a backup line going for a few years. It can be used to make objects or design them. Like for example, the glowforge made a design on the back of a macbook and all the user had to do was set it in there and choose the design and got the final outcome. Users can put there own detailed drawings or ideas with different layers being the shading of the drawing the glowforge is top of its class.
    2. I think the glowforge is an amazing piece of work and i would buy one for if i had an extra thousand laying around. From its design on laptops, cutting foods, and even to its ability to make ideas come to life. This machine would be an awesome thing to show off and use.
    3. If i had a glowforge i would design my laptop. i would also use it to make cool shaped foods and even help with projects in school that would need objects that i do not have at the moment.

  14. 1. The Glowforge is an apparatus that allows for cool and unique designs using any material possible. The Glowforge allows the user to tap into their creative side and make drones, mac book designs, and lamps made out of recycled cardboard. It's an incredible device that's similar to the 3D Printer but not quite. The materials must be inserted into the Glowforge, and the Glowforge will cut into those materials and create designs/easy to build with patterns.

    2. I really like the Glowforge, it looks like something really great to use if you're a builder or have even a shred of creativity. The possibilities with this thing are endless and I'm sure the builds will keep getting better.

    3. A gun.

  15. 1. the Glow forge is a new crowdfunded laser cutting machine. It is compatible with a variety of materials, including wood, leather, acrylic, fabric, cardboard, and paper. Compatibility includes printing over WiFi and supports file extensions JPG, PNG, TIF, SVG, AI, DXF, PDF.

    2. I think the glow forge is an awesome machine. Laser cutting is a very efficient and clean way of permanently marking and cutting things very precisely. This would make a variety of tasks that would previously be hard, very easy as the machine could do a lot of detailed work.

    3. Many things, including custom business cards.

  16. 1. Glowforge is an iconic 3D laser printer than was originally posted on a crowd funding website and sold to wanting consumers. With its laser you cut through wood, leather, acrylic, fabric, and other materials for the ultimate crafters.

    2. I think it is an amazing device, even with just the pen designing feature it would be an amazing gadget to have in the home of a creator. With the possibility of cutting and engraving you could do just about anything with the laser cutter.

    3. I would use it to engrave a laptop and other tech devices to make them one of a kind.

  17. 1. Glowforge is similar to 3-D printing. However, the major difference is that Glowfoge cuts material instead of printing it. The laser is extremely precise and can cut a large variety of materials.

    2. Glowforge seems pretty cool, but I don't think I'd have any use for it. It would be reminiscent of a $2,500 paperweight. If was looking for a appliance for engraving, I'd go with this because it seem super easy to set up.

    3. I would love to try putting engraving in game controllers. I think it could make some fantastic designs, and you could probably sell them for an increased price as well.

  18. 1.Glow forge is a 3D printer that uses lasers to cut and engrave many different materials. Examples are glass wood and chocolate, all the chocolate... You can design using many different programs and change it over to print in the printer.

2.I would love having one of those that so I can design some very interesting things. You can cut chocolate which is awesome. I do not like the price but I think it can be quite useful for making thing faster and easier.

3.I would design models for my train layout and chocolate things. I might make a special pattern in my case on my phone. I also could use it to something out of glass for a thing I bought to light it. So many possibilities.

  19. 1. The Glowforge is similar to a 3d printer except not. Instead of adding and assembling material, it cuts your object to a desired shape. It’s not really 3d either since it only has 1 axis but it can cut or engrave giving it varying degrees of cutting which is an aspect of 3d.
    2. The Glowforge is a really cool toy. It can be really useful for creative purposes and just uses some awesome science that makes filthy rich nerds giggle with glee. But if you’re not swimming in cash, it’s not a worthy buy because it’s really only used for fun and creativity that can be achieved through other means.
    3. If I had a glowforge, I would put a baby in it and try searing illuminati and nazi symbols into its skin. Just to see what would happen.

  20. 1. Glowforge is like a 3D printer but instead it uses high precision lasers to cut out the object from a block of whatever material you desire. It can only cut in a single dimension so it isn't exactly 3D but it does cut from varying degrees and engraves.

    2. Its pretty cool for small projects the require certain parts but it is expensive so unless your rich you aren't going to need this because its a high price point but its still cool.

    3. I would use it to cut small components or parts required for something. I would also engrave things because you know why not.

  21. 1) Glowforge is a new kind of 3d (even though it can only make 2d shape) printer that uses high precision lasers to cut the object instead of laying it.

    2) Its really cool because according to the website, it can cut patterns into macbooks or other electronic devices

    3) I would make a pattern on my laptop because that sounds really cool.
