  1. This article is on Google’s new mobile network infrastructure. They have been experimenting with hopping between wireless towers and private networks to provide the most comprehensive coverage. This article is actually not that detailed and is very basic. I originally heard about it on NCIX Tech Tips daily news show. The current structure they have now will not likely even be close to the final product. Google tests a ton of things and has their paws in everything. I don't expect much news to come out of this. It is just one of thousands of google’s projects. I’ll start caring once google fibre finishes rolling out and they may actually have an infrastructure to support the network on a large scale. What is my opinion of it? It exists. Nothing else to say. It is just google’s version of ting, but instead is just a much smaller market test group. Until they actually have a proper independent infrastructure to support it, there is no reason to care.

  2. 1. This article is about how Google is branching off into a brand-new mobile phone carrier. This carrier is named Project Fi. However, Google has already had experience with providing internet. They already have released Google Fiber, which dominates other internet providers. Google's mobile carrier system would be able to connect to multiple wireless carriers, and automatically select the fastest one. Both T-Mobile and Sprint are already involved in their system. Project Fi would also be able to connect to open Wi-Fi hotspots and areas.
    2. I love the idea of Google Wireless. The fact that I could have multiple carriers to choose from is hard to not love. The only thing that I am concerned with is the price. One thing that helped settle my nerves is that Google will only charge you for the amount of data that you use. I am currently unhappy with the wireless data speed that Verizon offers me. To have a company as trusted as Google keeping my phone connected to the internet is both comforting and exciting.

  3. 1. The article is about Google expanding their line of products into the world of 3G and WiFi Service, which they have called it, Project Fi. The idea is that one using their service would be able to switch over to other providers compatible with the slightest of ease to get better signals in a place they normally couldn't with another provider. One of the greatest ideas in the project is that users would only have to pay for data actually being used, rather than paying for all of it in full. And expanding on that idea is that any data not used will be taken and used as credit on the next bill!

    2. I think this is one of the greatest ideas I've seen in some time. I think it's great to provide a cheap and effective way to use data, because it always sucks to have to pay for the data that you're not using. And since it's Google, who I happen to trust quite a bit as a company, I think they really know what they're doing by trying to expand this out to the world. The only downside that I see is that currently it's an Invite-Only type of deal, and only works with the Google Nexus 6 phone. It would be really great to see this expand onto other phones and try it out.

  4. 1. This article just continues to prove that Google will one day rule the world. Not only do they own hundreds of technology companies and the fastest in in-home wifi, but now they also want to create their own mobile carrier. All joking aside, this is a major step for Google as the company continues to branch out into other tech fields, just shows what happens when you have seemingly unlimited funds. However they plan to use T-mobile and Sprint towers which while T-mobile does have the fastest 4g LTE data, in severely struggles with dead spots and almost stops working once you leave a major city. However they do have a cool idea for data usage which would only charge for the data you use in a month and credit you back the data that goes unused. Wish Verizon did that for me.

    2. With the use of wifi hotspots, free international data, a strong rollover package and more. Google Wireless has the ability to be the next big carrier in the ever growing quest to see who can cover the globe with cell service. It will be interesting to see if they offer their plans for iPhones as they are Google's biggest competition. However Google is a strong stable company that rarely makes a poor decision and seems to almost constantly grow, so I have trust in them.

  5. 1.) This article is about Google expanding their business in the cellular industry. They are calling this Project Fi. They have partnered up with T-mobile and Sprint by using their cellular towers and Google is providing free and open Wi-Fi hotspots for data. Phones with their service will connect to the fastest one automatically.

2.) I think that although Google, being the kingpin of a lot of things, can provide very good service to everyone everywhere, they shouldn't. Knowing the common sense, everyone is going to switch because Project Fi people have trusted Google for years and they don't like their current carrier for whatever reason. The reason I think Google shouldn't fall through with this is because they will just take other carriers business. As a customer of Google for some time now, I will probably switch sometime too, just because it will (hopefully) be cheaper.

  6. 1.Google is continuing its quest to kill god and replace him. It has now declared let there be good phones service. with the help of its compatriots T-mobile and sprint as well as many free wifi hot spots google has given our phone the ability to change any to the fastest network available as well as granting us the protection of a VPN on our phones wifi network. It also does not over charge based on data it charges you for what you use something other networks don do.

2.I think it is a cool idea but whether its going to work super well is unclear. I think its good that were getting a company that actually cares about consumers getting into these markets. Because currently most cell phone company s are the closest we get to being creatures compose entirely of pure malice.

  7. 1. Google has a new project not surprising to me google does a little bit of everything. Google is trying to set up there own wireless cell service. They have partnered up with some other cell phone services to try to make it work. I have just one question why does google want to take over everything I mean don't they have enough already, those greedy bastards.

    2. Its a cool idea but like anything else it will take time to fix all the issues and what not. Personally I wouldn't pay for It because that would fund the developments for world domination by google.

  9. 1) Google is essentially combining a lot of things that already exist into one package. T-Mobile already offers free roaming in 120+ countries. Skype, along with countless other providers, offer the wifi hotspots. The only cool thing about it is connecting to all of the networks and picking the fastest one, in which case, companies could be paid per gigabyte delivered, which would boost competition drastically. If Sprint was really slow phones would never connect to it, so they wouldn't make money. I don't think this is exactly what they had in mind, but it should be.

    2) I think it's a cool concept, but they need to sell it a little better. They just made it sound like a problem few people face that's a low-budget sort of thing, when really it'd be much better if they oversell it.

  10. 1. The "Google Wireless" article is about Google teaming up with Sprint and T-Mobile to offer a cellular service. Their Google service would choose between carriers and give the user the fastest service available in that situation. Google will offer free international data (at lower speeds), and better cell range. They would also, only charge you for the data that you actually use, and the remaining balance would carry over to your next bill cycle.

    2. In my opinion, I am happy with my current provider, T-Mobile. I have absolutely no interest in switching carriers. Although the extended/better range and connection that Google is predicting, would be cool and useful. I dont need those features.

  11. 1. Google is now expanding there horizons by stepping into the phone company. There goal along with T-Mobile and Sprint is to set up free mobile hot spots that would provide 3g speeds. This makes it so there are three networks that you can connect to but your phone goes to the fastest right away. Google also is protecting people by using VPN to encrypt users data.

    2. I think it's a cool idea. Google is a large company but they do normally produce good products. I wont be jumping on this as soon as it comes out because there are always issues at first. But after some refinement it would be worth considering.

  12. 1. This article is about Google's continuous goal to put all other service providers to shame by offering a way better service at a more than reasonable price. It started with Google Fiber and now this Project Fi. The only drawback is that it's invite only and you have to be using a Nexus 6.

    2. I love that Google is coming in and throwing a wrench in these services that happen to be ridiculously over priced for the quality of service that we actually get from them, of which they are only able to do because of the lack of competition. Google is stepping up and becoming that much needed competition
