Snapchat

Snapchat Spectacles
Snapchat Spectacles are Snapchat’s first physical product, that connects wirelessly to your Snapchat account. They can send videos and pictures to your story through Bluetooth, and have been released through randomly placed vending machines, where Snapchat releases their location, for purchase. They have been reselling through sites like eBay, for nearly 10x the retail price.

1.Would you use these if you have a Snapchat?

2. On a technical standpoint, how do you feel about these camera glasses?

3. How do you feel about devices like the Snapchat Spectacles and Google Glass, in terms of the concept, and the issue of privacy?

  1. 1. I would not use these glasses in any situation because I would look like an idiot with them on. I don't even use Snapchat that often, so these are useless to me.

    2. I find them similar to Google Glass, where there is a camera in the lens. I don't think the camera is very good, I would just carry a camcorder around instead. I'd rather have people know I'm filming them creepily.

    3. I don't think they're very practical in every day use. The only pro I can see to wearing these is if you're making adult voyeur videos.

  2. 1. I do have snapchat, but I would use it just to show off to my friends because they are really rare to find. But I would not use it to wear it because I do not wear sunglasses and if I did, I would definitely not use those. Because of the shape of them and weird camera on the side.

    2. I think that these glasses are really great because if someone is recording them driving a motorcycle and an accident happens, they could use the camera for evidence and what actually happened.

    3. I think that they are a good for concept. But I do not see regular people using them in the near future. Although I do see celebrities use them like Snapchat spectacles but I guaranteed that people will not use them. I think that privacy is not a problem because you are just getting notifications from your phone in google glasses and on snapchat spectacles you just record your daily life if you choose to.

  3. 1. No because i can do a lot more with the money then spend it on that and they look hella stupid on you.

2.I think they look stupid and are hella ugly i don't know why somebody would buy them and they look like google glasses.

3.Wast of money thats what i think about the glasses they ugly too and would buy a 2 elotes with that money than spend it on those glasses.

  4. 1.No, they seem pointless cause the app.

2.They look similar to google glass.

3.A bit of a waste of money.

  5. 1. I wouldn't use the spectacles because they seem useless and they make you look like you're spying on someone.
2.The spectacles look bad and just don't look like something you would see someone using. Its a pointless device added in the technology routine, just no.
    3. The Google glasses and the Snapchat Spectacles look like they're just made to spy, like I would not like someone wearing those because it will make me feel bad and it will feel like if they're watching me, honestly I would walk away from the person looking around with one of those.

  6. 1.No I wouldn’t want to by the Spectacles. All it does is just record your surrounding and nothing really special happens. It can only record for 10 seconds which isn’t really enough time. I wouldn’t recommend getting them.

2.They just don’t really look cool to me. They look a bit goofy looking and it's just pointless because all you can do is use them to record and it just seems like a waste of time.

3.I just think they’re a waste of money to be honest. They just don’t really seem that interesting and they don’t do much

  7. 1. Yes I would. I would even use these if I did not have a snapchat. I always wanted a camera on my face and this could let me get amazing video or camera shots.
    2. They are really cool and the camera is decent quality. The biggest issue is that you can record people without them knowing and you could say the light was just a special effect. This can become extremely problematic in some places.
3.Concept wise they are perfect and can be used everywhere but the biggest problem is that they can be overused and take away some privacy. Anywhere at anytime people might not know if you are recording a video or not.

  8. 1 .No because they would be they look really stupid on any one that wear this ,and I just look at what my friends are doing in their time

2.They look like google glass but not similar the snapchat glass just have a camera and a light but with google glass they have camera and don’t have the light but the technical standpoint it’s just glasses with a camera.

3.I just don’t know with privacy yet because snapchat hasn't had issue yet but I feel like it will be a small issue because how people can share it how they’re incontrol with all settings and the people will have to pick to share or don’t share

  9. No I would never ever in 100 years ever use these glasses because they are very ugly and just very unpractical because I already wear glasses, but even if I did not wear glasses I still would not wear them they are just so ugly and weird like I really do not understand what people are thinking if they actually wear these like what. They also look like you have to have about zero self awareness to actually wear them and feel confident in them, in addition no one and I mean no one would take you seriously at all, you would probably get mad fun of if you wore them not gonna lie.

    2. They are like the Google Glasses, which are also very ugly and Google Glasses also come with every downside the Snapchat Spectacles have which is also a really big negative because everything I wrote in the paragraph above about the Snapchat Spectacles is also true with the Google Glasses. The stuff inside the glasses, like the technology parts like the cpu and stuff are ok in the Snapchat Spectacles I guess, I mean I do not really know anything about that stuff but yeah it looks alright.

    3. They are like the Google Glasses, which are also very ugly and Google Glasses also come with every downside the Snapchat Spectacles have which is also a really big negative because everything I wrote in the paragraph above about the Snapchat Spectacles is also true with the Google Glasses. I mean I guess you could use them for like evidence if someone assaulted you or something like that, you could probably use the video your Snapchat Spectacles recorded to have evidence against the person who assaulted you which is good, but I am pretty sure the person who assaulted you would take the glasses too if they are smart.

  10. 1:I personally would use these to film situation that interest me such as going on a roller coster ride and such although I would not buy these since they have no need or proper use that I require.

2:I think that these could be used for a perspective standpoint and show the viewer what the surroundings were like in such situation.

3:I believe we will run into the same problem as we did with drones how they can be used for spying and no limit will be reached especially since it would be difficult to spot someone with these on as they are disguised as plain old sun glasses.

  11. 1. Though I do have a Snapchat, I do not use the application often. I only use the app to communicate with one friend. I find the price outrageous for just a wearable face camera. Thus, I would not be one for using the Snapchat Spectacles.

    2. I believe these camera-glasses are a fairly amusing innovation of technology, though not an innocent one. Their expense drives consumers like me away because, well, it’s not much effort to just record video and take pictures like normal through Snapchat. The glasses look pretty bulky and large, not something very fashionable.

    3. No one really uses Google Glass, as it was a huge flop by Google, so I don’t think of it as much of a threat when it comes to privacy. However, with Snapchat being a very popular social media app, avid users of the app are likely to purchase these Snap Spectacles. I am not comfortable being recorded without knowledge or consent, so the thought of users delighting in these camera-glasses around me avidly is kind of unnerving.

  12. 1. I have Snapchat yet, I don't use it for very much. I would not recommend the purchase of these glasses as they are rather expensive and not to useful.

    2. The camera appears to be of pretty good quality, and good for recording as they look just like glasses but with stupid rings on them.

    3. The google glasses thing was supposed to be like the smart phone on your face while Snapchat is more like a Gopro.

  13. 1.) I personally wouldn't, they look goofy as hell and everybody's gonna know you're gonna be taking picture when you're wearing them. They're cool, but nothing I would actually wanna buy.

2.) They're some of the most compact cameras out there, and the resolution and fidelity is actually really good, based on the example pictures they showed. They seem well made on a technological standpoint, but they look dumb.

3.) I think technology that you wear over your eyes is just even more of a distraction and waste of money. They are totally impractical and you just look like an idiot wearing them. Most things like this just seem like a total waste.

  14. 1) I personally would not use the Spectacles even though I have a Snapchat. As the Verge article said, its clunky transfer process and inability to take photos goes against what Snapchat is all about: quick photos and videos to send to friends. It is a wonderful idea as it lets you capture moments from your perspective. In this way, its perfect for recording experiences like ziplining, concerts and other live events that using a phone would normally take away from. I personally hate recording parts of concerts or other experiences as it takes you out of the moment and makes you watch it all through a screen so this would be a good alternative to that. However, these glasses are going to run into the same problem Google Glasses did: privacy. People are incredibly sensitive about their image when portrayed through other people. Google Glasses seemed like a great idea but when implemented, it brought huge controversy.

    2) From a technical standpoint, I think it is a wonderful example of how wearables can be further implemented in our society. The ability to record video from your perspective while simultaneously using them as sunglasses is promising for the advancement of wearable technology. The charging case is a huge plus as it keeps the glasses contained and safe while it charges. However, the slow transfer of videos makes it all less impressive. It slows down the upload process when Snapchat is all about quick, simple photos and video. Overall, it is a technical masterpiece in theory but not perfect in implementation.

    3) Personally, I think that the idea of wearables like this are actually quite amazing. They offer a whole new way to integrate technology seamlessly into our lives through perspective pictures and videos, environment-integrated directions and easier ways to search for quick information. However, with these amazing advancements, people always worry of the malicious uses and for good reason. Today, people’s lives are on the internet. People constantly post every crowning achievement of their lives or really just anything for everyone to see. These glasses could allow for the capture of embarrassing or inappropriate moments on tape. These kind of possibility already happen with phones and the ease created with these glasses make it worse. However, I still feel like these technologies have more good implications than bad.

  15. I do not have a snapchat but even if i did i would never use this. It is an evasion of privacy for others and they look stupid, and it is very pointless because you have the app to begin with.

I believe that they could be very practical and useful, taking pictures without using a phone for occasions like going sightseeing. But that is not the purpose for most on snapchat. They like to take pictures of themselves or their friends to have fun. Some use it for vulgar reasons which is exactly why i am against it.

Concept, they are perfect and can be used everywhere but the biggest problem is that they can be overused and take away many amounts of privacy, Anywhere at anytime people might not know if you are recording a video or not, which is very unsettling.

    ReplyDelete
  16. 1. Personally i won't uses the glasses but maybe other people would use them and snapchat themselves everywhere they go and have fun with the glasses but i don't see myself in those glasses.
2.I think there great. Snapchat with your glasses, that's amazing and how you can go places and snapchat chat this is just mind blowing.
    3. I think it will distract you from walking and you can run into people and cars then then get killed or injured. What if your walking and then a pop up of snapchat saying you got a snapchat from a friend and you couldn't see the road or walkway you're walking on and trip or fall down on the road

  17. 1. Personally, I would not use these glasses. I don’t believe that the “cool” factor and instantaneous recording would make up for the unease that they would create in social situation. We all know that we act differently whenever someone pulls out a phone to take a picture or a video. Just as the review stated, this is essentially Snapchat feeling out how the populace reacts to cameras in social situations. There are certain times when these glasses could be helpful: such as traveling, where you want to experience the culture through your own eyes while still capturing memories. However, overall, I don’t see these glasses as any form of major improvement over what is already available.

    2. In terms of technology, these glasses are not overly complicated which makes them rather elegant. The glasses work almost like an extension of your phone’s own camera as it connects via bluetooth. The glasses themselves are not clunky, as was a common complaint with the Google Glass. I also applaud Snapchat for their clever design of the carrying case functioning as a charging case. The white lights are also a good way to allow people to know when they are being recorded. I appreciate that Snapchat did not try to hide the cameras in the glasses, as I think this will help people feel more open towards them rather than feeling “Big-Brother-esque.” All that being said, there was not too much technological advancement that went into these glasses, in my opinion. It was simply the way in which they chose to incorporate prior inventions into their product that was groundbreaking.

    3. As of right now, I believe that the only privacy at risk is that of the Glass and Spectacles users. The glasses are not discreet enough so that people would not know when they are being recorded. Basically, you face all of the same security risks as when you use any mobile device. Since the Spectacles specifically are directly linked to the Snapchat platform, anything you record will become accessible on their servers. Every time you record your cute little dog, you are allowing the release of images from the interior of your home, just as you would with the Snapchat app. My biggest concern with these types of devices would be their potential to become surveillance systems. What if someone were able to watch your every move through your own eyes. They could learn your patterns and leave you vulnerable to crime (both cyber, as they could watch you type your passwords, and normal, as they would know when you were home or not).

  18. 1.) That’s a flat “no” for me. I don’t even have a Snapchat, nor do I ever really see myself submitting myself to it, so yeah, I’d never use them.
2.) The concept itself seems rather cool, I’m all for having some other interface to run some of your phone’s functions without actually having it, kind of like watches, but in this case it does some more visual stuff like taking pictures and videos with ease. However wasting it on Snapchat kinda inhibits the potential I think, although it can be a great stepping stone to become more mainstream.
3.) As said above, I do love the concept, although it might not be the best thing to make them automatically give location info, as it can easily give someone access to certain stuff they might not want people to know, addresses being one of the biggest things. Perhaps once they get out of the baby step phases and the technology and appearance becomes more refined they will be worth looking into.

  19. 1. "No", for two main reasons: I do use Snapchat, but rarely, and I already wear glasses. The first reason is self-explanatory: I don't use Snapchat nearly enough for a purchase like this to really be worth it. Second, I like my glasses and they're actually helping me see, instead of just having a camera that can record what I do.

    2. From a purely technical standpoint, the spectacles are impressive. They can take round video--how they managed that is a little bit beyond me. Also, it looks like they have a dual camera, one at the edge of each temple; whether they're already planning for 3-D video or they just wanted a look of symmetry or whatever, that's beyond me.

    3. Again, I kind of enjoy the concept, but I would never use Snapchat Specs. Google Glass, on the other hand, always seemed interesting to me, what with its striking asymmetry. As usual, I'm not terribly worried about the NSA trying to find out what I do as I'm neither a known criminal or terrorist, and (as I just said) I find the concept extremely enticing. Wearables are the new wave of new technology, and while they may not have time-wasters right now, I'm sure that there will be some put in place at some point.

  20. 1. IF I have Snapchat, which I do not, I would use it just for specific purposes. For example, capturing and saving little tiny bits of moments of my life or making a multi millionaire movie out of those moments, I would totally use one, but using it just for its looks, I totally would not.

    2. Looking at it at a technical standpoint, I would say it's completely meaningless to make it WITH the glasses. Why not just make an attachment that can be attached to different sun/eyeglasses instead of just making one incorporated with it? It would make a lot more profit and sense if it's an attachment.

    3. The concept in itself is quite amazing but the products itself has several risks involving security, privacy, etc. As long as the users of these devices does not disobey the terms and services/use of the product, I'm perfectly fine with it as long as they don't get me involved that is. I mean if a consumer uses this for malicious ulterior motives, I bet it would alarm the producers right away. Furthermore, the product has a trademark form on it, so people who knows of this product will be informed when someone uses it for any purposes at all. In the end, it's just up to the people to know that a person is using one to avoid contact with that person vice versa.

    ReplyDelete
  21. 1. No. No way. These glasses seem like an awful waste of money; also, I'd probably look like a fool. I also use Snapchat pretty sparingly, so I'd get little use out of them.

    2. It's a cool concept and a unique perspective. I'd be interested in watching other people's Snapchats from this perspective because it's something that has been done very sparingly before now.

    3. There's a huge vulnerability in the making with this wearable technology. The fact that there's a camera on your face allows for a hacker to see everything that you see-- whether that be passwords, private matters, or trade secrets. As cool as the tech may be, we must also be equally cautious to protect ourselves from exploitation.

    ReplyDelete
  22. 1. Honestly I have little to no reasons to actually buy this kind of product. I do not use Snapchat and even though I could possible be considering it because of a lot of my friends who use it, I don’t feel i would ever use it enough to warrant buying the product. For me wearing sunglasses would just be weird as I already wear prescription glasses and I would have to get contacts and would mostly be inconvenienced. I would not find them useful in my life and the drawbacks do not make me feel any better. Especially when it has such a high price. I do not have the money to just buy a product that I would never get a worthwhile experience out of. That is not money I am willing to give.
    2. On a technical aspect it is a nice idea. Taking already existing technology and just giving a product to people who would want it. Snapchat was a popular enough app that plenty of people will want this. Being able to take video through the cameras attached to the frame. The electronics are nicely spread out and it does not look like it would be uncomfortable to wear. The electronics are spread so the weight is not uncomfortable for the wearer. It is not any insane revelation in technology and it just simply takes technology to create a convenient device for customers.
    3. The concept is alright but the execution is not good. Devices such as this are entirely luxury and not really provided for the average person. The price is not for an average consumer. It is entirely meant to make money off of those who can afford it. The google glass especially seems impractical for the uses. In terms of privacy, there do not seem to be many security measures placed on these devices. Bluetooth could be secure but there is no way a bluetooth connection is more secure than somebody’s actual phone. That connection can be easily exploited and nothing can get around that flaw right now.

    ReplyDelete
  23. 1. Well I think that they are kind of a cool idea but, I don't think I would use this idea. I wouldn't use them because I don't really want to use these weird glasses in public. I mean I do use snapchat but I kind of want to see how they really work in person first and get a test of what they are like, but if I am at a cool place and I want to so a video of where I am I would use them.

2.I think the concept is pretty cool honestly. I think if the glasses are actually good looking a lot of people would use them if they might be travel to some amazing place or something. Also using glasses would make wearing glasses more popular and people might start using them just for style. If they could make the glasses for people that actually need to see and have the video as a add on would be pretty cool.

3.Well my opinion I kind of like the concept of the Snapchat specs. Google Glass is also really interesting to me too. Well I do like my privacy about my stuff but it's not like I have done bad things, but the glasses might have something that you don't want people to see and that could be an issue with privacy.

    ReplyDelete
  24. 1) I don't think I would ever use it because I don't even have Snapchat and the product is on its early stages so the problems like low resolution camera, the camera view haven't been improved.

    2) I think they look pretty cool, they are sleek looking and the white circle that rotates while recording looks futuristic. They definitely have some potential in future

    3) I think the concepts great, but it has a lot of problems on privacy issues.. I wouldn't like someone recording me with those things.

    ReplyDelete
  25. 1. I would not use these glasses if I had a Snapchat account. I have a pair of glasses for seeing the board at school and I hate wearing them. It is not that I do not like the way I look with them it is because I don't like anything on may face. Also sunglasses are supposed to make you look cool not stupid.
    2. On a technical standpoint, glasses for a camera is pretty innovative. It introduces a new perspective to social media and it frees up a hand to its users. There is just one problem camera glasses are not a new idea, but connecting it to a popular app might convince people to buy it. It might just make using Snapchat more convenient as well.
    3. I feel that devices like Snapchat Spectacles and Google glass are just asking for attention. People don't need them if they have their expensive phone cameras. Privacy might be a big issue around others too. They are going to be really expensive and everyone will notice you taking pictures and people nearby might get upset.

    ReplyDelete
  26. 1. I personally would not use the Snapchat Spectacles, because I don't often post to my snapchat and the whole idea is kind of dumb.
    2. The camera in the glasses is like a GoPro in a sense. It takes videos in a sort of first person perspective, and it seems less bulky but a downside is that it can only record up to 10 seconds.
    3. I feel like devices such as the ones made by Snapchat and Google were made to make interaction faster and at the same time easier, because it's pretty much hands free. On a privacy standpoint, people who want to privately record others is already an issue that is not a problems of Snapchats. Sure it could enhance how these stalkers do their business, but it's not their issue.

    ReplyDelete
  27. 1) I would not use the snapchat spectacles because I don't want to look like an idiot in public or on snapchat. I already have glasses that are necessary to see, so I don't need useless snapchat glasses.

    2) The glasses record in first person for ten seconds and uploads the footage to snapchat. The draw back for me is that it's only compatible with snapchat and it only records for 10 seconds.

    3) I like the concept of the snapchat spectacles and google glasses but I don't see people using these products in the near future. It's not snapchat's issue when it comes to privacy because people should be aware that they are recording others.

    ReplyDelete
  28. 1. personally, I would not use these, mainly because I would look ridiculous while wearing them. Also, they don't really really seem to serve any purpose other than convenience, whereas i would prefer to do everything on my phone.

    2. Similar to google glasses, they are innovative, so that entices people and help the glasses gain momentum. But not unlike google glasses, they will most likely loose their allure within a year and no one will remember they even exist.

    3. I am indifferent about these sorts of devices, because even though it may feel like more of an invasion of privacy, even if people didn't have the glasses, they would just be taking pictures on their phone instead, so the eventual outcome is the same.

    ReplyDelete
  29. 1. Even if I did use Snapchat, which I don’t, I would definitely not use these glasses. They cost extra money for almost no benefit as you could just as easily take a higher quality picture/video with the cellphone that you’re always going to have in your pocket anyway. Also, they’re just a waste of money and it would be annoying to wear them anyway. Also, I have to wear real glasses so I wouldn’t even be able to really use them.

    2. For the price they’re asking, $130, the specs are average. The video doesn’t look amazing, although it doesn’t look bad. Only being able to take 10 second videos is fine for Snapchat, obviously, but for nearly anything else that would be too short.

    3. Privacy, in my opinion, doesn’t really play into these devices. In a public space, you are legally allowed to take pictures and videos. The concept of Google Glass is much better than the Snap Spectacles. The Spectacles only have one purpose, to upload to snapchat. Google Glass actually had many features and could run many apps that were helpful for things other than uploading a pretty much meaningless Snapchat. Google Glass was a cool idea, in my opinion, but they probably could’ve rolled it out better, and these Snap Spectacles are just a bad idea overall.

    ReplyDelete
  30. 1) No, I would not as I do not find the need to take a picture of every single thing that I do. I would much rather live the moment and remember it that way then worry about taking a picture.

    2) From a technical standpoint, they are quite neat as they are glasses that can take video. It is create at getting a first person perspective because this way you don't have to wear the camera on top of your head or somewhere else and it really puts you into the wearer's perspective.

    3) I really like my privacy. There are many things that I say or do or think that I don't talk about to most people, sometimes not even my best of friends. I do not, however, worry about being filmed in public as long as I am AWARE that I am being filmed. I don't like people sneaking photos or videos of me.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 1. I would totally use snap chat in fact it would be a good invention. Because it would be a upgrade in a social part. But in the other hand other people wont like it because it can evade privacy.

    2. In a technical standpoint, i believe these glasses are great because they are easy and cool to use. I would spend money for this.

    3. I like my privacy but i like my friends and want them to know how i am doing. Also if these come out only my closest friends i will add.

    ReplyDelete
  32. 1. I would definitely use these if I had snapchat as these glasses provide an interesting perspective.

    2. I think these glasses are kinda cheesy and your money would be better spent on a gopro.

    3. I think they are useful devices, but with current technology are not entirely practical or useful for any use.

    ReplyDelete
  33. 1.) These glasses have interesting implications if applied elsewhere, but a cesspool like Snapchat should not really have technology like this.

2.) They definitely seem like an advancement, but they are quite tacky, even with social standards setting the bar so low these days.

3.) I believe the technology itself wouldn't really be worth exploiting, due to the fact that people would rarely use them.

    ReplyDelete
  34. 1. I don't think I would use Snapchat Spectacles because I can't ever find myself using Snapchat regularly. I think the device is cool and is good for current users, but I am not a fan of Snapchat in any why. If I did use Snapchat, I don't think i'd really use the spectacles just because they don't look practical.

    2. They look like a lesser version of a GoPro, which is fine, it's meant to record short videos, but I found google glass to be more impressive, so looking at these, I don’t see anything special.

    3. I think they are a cool concept and could be something cool, but it all comes back to practicality, I can record and post a video using my glasses, but is it really any easier then just pulling out my phone and doing it on that. Currently it's just not at a point where it would be preferable to use google glass over your phone and likewise for the Snapchat Spectacles.

  36. 1. I could see myself using snap spectacles, I feel like they could be a great way to use snapchat because they basically capture what you are seeing which is something that you can not do with your phone.

    2. I think that this is a great invention because you can now take snaps very easily. it is a great update to snapchat which was already a great app but this is a huge improvement.

    3. These are great ideas because it gives people the idea of what things are going to be like in the future. it also makes things a lot easier for the user because they could possibly be more user friendly.

  37. 1. I do not have snapchat so I can not use these. If I did have snapchat, I would still not use these. If I did, I think it would look weird on me and might be an invasion of privacy.
    2. I guess on a technical standpoint these are pretty awesome. Putting a camera in a pair of glasses must have been pretty hard to do. Also capturing anything at a moments notice is also awesome.

    3. I guess the concept is okay, but in terms of privacy not really. If someone wants to take a video, they have to take out their phone out of their pocket and point it towards you. With the glasses is less suspicious because, they’re constantly on your head, and no one would know if you were recording or not.

    ReplyDelete
  38. 1. As much I believe these glasses are cool, I don't believe that I would personally use them. As a person who barely uses social media, I only use Snapchat to once in awhile to snap to friends. So I don't use Snapchat a lot. So it would probably be a waste of my money for myself.

    2. On a technological standpoint I think are pretty cool. The idea of having a slim camera on sunglasses is a really good idea. I also think it is a starting point for future camera sunglasses that might film video and photos to your phone's photos. One thing I don't like is that it can't take photos which is a huge loss in my opinion. On a style standpoint I feel the sunglasses lack in this area.

    3. I don't see a problem with theses devices in my opinion. The concept is amazing and it just a easier way to snap without pulling out a phone. My only problem is if the company can use the camera on the sunglasses when they want too.

  39. 1. I would definitely use Snapchat Spectacles if I had the chance. I think it is a great invention and a great idea but there are a few things wrong with the glasses. First is the price is a bit expensive. I think that a good price range for the glasses should be anywhere from $80-$100, if someone is paying $130 for these glasses then there shouldn't be any bugs and should come in sizes. I would use it if i had a chance to just trial it but if i had to buy it I wouldn't till more improvements are made to it.

    2. From a technical standpoint the spectacles have a few problems. The video transfers from the glasses to your phone is pretty slow and posting the videos to snapchat is extremely complex to do. Also you can't take photos with the glasses which is a big thing considering that it is snapchat and the app is about sending pictures. I wouldn't put my money into these until more improvements are made to it and additional features are added.

3.I don't think that there is a problem with this device and privacy. The glasses don't record for that long and the quality isn't the best and also most people would know if someone was recording a video cause of their head movements and that also it is bright yellow and you can distinguish it from other normal sunglasses.

  40. 1. I would not because a phone is so much more practical to carry around then to where some glasses for just the purpose of Snapchat.

    2. From a technical standpoint I see that it is actually pretty impressive to put this technology into such a small form and integrate a software like Snapchat with it, however I do not see it to be a practical use for such technology.

    3. They are technological feats, yet as said before, they are no where near practical for everyday use. In terms of privacy, it is somewhat like Internet of Things where it is susceptible to security threats, yet there are certain precautions that can be taken.

  41. 1. I would actually try these snapchat spectacles out, not because they look cool but just to try out how good they really are. I think that the person who would actually use these would be my sister, she is always on snapchat and post like a million pictures/videos a day(figure of speech). These spectacles look kind of cool but i would not wear sunglasses or even glasses for a long period of time, iIdon't need to wear sunglasses inside anyways and most of the time the sun doesn't even bother me...

    2. On a technical point, these glasses seem pretty cool but the fact that they have a camera, its kind of an invasion of privacy. I think that if people were not so weird, I think that people could actually put these in stores, such as Walmart and the dollar store instead of eBay or amazon. i believe that most people who think this is cool actually buy it but most buy it and does not use it because of the invasion of privacy.

    3. How I feel about these spectacles or the Goggle glasses is different from many others, some think they are cool, others think they are weird and ugly, but everyone has their own opinion. Why exactly does my opinion matter, it's not like its gonna be used anyways. These glasses are a really bad thing especially for privacy, nobody wants to be put on the spot and put on snapchat.

  43. 1. Yes I would. I would even use these if I did not have a snapchat. I always wanted a camera on my face and this could let me get amazing video or camera shots.
    2. I think that these glasses are really great because if someone is recording them driving a motorcycle and an accident happens, they could use the camera for evidence and what actually happened.
3.Concept, they are perfect and can be used everywhere but the biggest problem is that they can be overused and take away many amounts of privacy, Anywhere at anytime people might not know if you are recording a video or not, which is very unsettling.

  44. 1. I would only get these if I was going somewhere I would always want to remember, or if I was a pretty famous dude walking around and recording the everyday life of a celeb. Other than that, not really because I think it’s really too extra to wear glasses that have a camera on them. I would rather use my phone's camera that has a pretty camera quality to take pictures of things.
    2. They are really cool on how they can link to your phone and onto snapchat itself, but like I said before they aren’t really for the everyday person to be using. Mostly sure that most people would use their phones instead of the cool tech glasses.
    3. Because the glasses link to your phone they have permission to do most things like; look at your contacts, see your friends, and see anything you do on the app itself. Google glasses are cool too but since it's linked to Google you can't really do much because Google uses a program called Google+ and not that many people like that app mainly because it’s too complicated to work around. Smart glasses are cool in all but there isn’t much use to them other than showing people your rad skills in a vehicle or just doing parkour.

  45. 1.I feel like these glasses are practically useless. You could basically use your phone. It is a waste of money for snapchat. All you will basically be doing is doing the same things that you could normally do with your normal phones. I believe that it is sort of like vr or google’s glasses. It will end up becoming a big mess up and snapchat will eventually get rid of it. It would be smart to hand it off to a big corporation. Microsoft would be a good company to take it over. Overall I still think that it is a useless thing and will be forgotten very soon.
2.The technology of these glasses is not that new. It has been done before. All it is is having a tiny bluetooth transmitter. It has been done before. I see that it is a cool concept but could also be really useless. I hope that they will do something better with it. It has a lot of potential but has been done before. I believe that it could be made better if you can just project what you are seeing on to something. It will be a lot better after doing that. I believe that it has a lot of potential but again it has already been done.
3.I feel that it will be just as bad. They are easy to access and can be taken easily. I think that it will become forgotten like the google glass. It has a privacy problem. Someone can just up and take it off of your face. There is no real protection. Google glass used your google account so it was even worse. If someone takes your snapchat than they could basically post anything they want. It is sort of like a gopro. It will most likely be very fragile and people will start to complain about it. I think that it will have a ton of technical problems too because it is not made by a major technological company.

  46. 1. No, I don’t want to spend money on a camera on glasses that does something that i can already do with my phone. Snap spectacles is just a camera and you can just use a phone camera to take videos.
    2. Spectacles are faster than taking out your phone and loading snapchat, but the glasses use bluetooth to connect to your phone and that can drain the phone battery. Spectacles can take videos without wifi so you don’t need to use cellular data or connect to wifi.
Spectacles aren’t much of a problem with privacy. Anyone can take their phone out at any time and record a video for as long as they want.

  48. 1. No I wouldn't buy these sunglasses because I rarely use sunglasses. They have very ugly frames, I don't really like the way the frames look. They are 130 i could buy some Raybans or Spys sunglasses that I actually I like. Also this feature doesn't really appeal to me it just seems like a product for people who really make there living off of social media.

    2. They have some similarities to google glasses, or generic spy glasses. How ever the camera quality is not to great you can get better quality image a flagship smartphone maybe even some mid range phones.

    3. I don't see people really using this I feel like people will buy them just to say they have them. I don't see these being used to infringe on people privacy because it will be pretty obvious because the glasses are very obnoxious looking.
