I Want My Robot's Job
As there is more automation in our jobs, there will be less for humans to do for jobs.
- Do you think that Robots will replace humans in the workforce? Why? (Explain in detail)
- How do you think that our government will deal with this? Why?(Explain in detail)
- What jobs do you think robots will replace? Why?(Explain in detail)

1. I entirely believe that millions of jobs will soon be replaced by robots, as the technology continues to get cheaper and more useful each day. Why would corporations employee a menial job that can easily be taken over with a one time purchase, with little to no down time? It is the necessary step that will cause a better focus on education, as there will be a demand for workers who are capable of fixing these machines.
ReplyDelete2. I would hope that as jobs are being replaced by advancing robotics, the government will help enforce education to a higher degree and keep people accountable for the future. This way people will be able to find jobs that will not be replaced by robots, so that they can sustain themselves and their families.
3. I think that jobs that take little to no skill and/or education will soon be replaced by robots, as they have no hourly wage to be earned, and the only other cost will be repairing them if necessary. Cashiers, Factory workers, Janitors, and similar jobs will soon be replaced by robots, and people will have to adapt to the ever changing world if they want to survive in modern society.
1. I believe that automation will replace numerous of jobs in the future. But as the demands of automation increases, there will be less jobs involving simple tasks but I believe there will be a tremendous demand increase in high-skill jobs involving science and mathematics like engineering for example. To summarize, automation cannot entirely eliminate humans in the workforce.
ReplyDelete2. What I think the government will do to is that they will compromise in order to keep the country's economy in check since automation can affect it in the long run. By the compromise, I mean taxing businesses that uses automation instead of labors or training more high-skilled workers that works for the sake of automation. I mean we already drank the poison, why not go all the way??
3. Jobs that takes up little to no skill will be taken up by automation but that doesn't mean all of it will be swallowed up by it. Since automation tech is quite expensive to get and maintain, businesses would rather get labor workers to work for them then switch to automation in order to double the rate of production.
1. Well I would say yes because I see the advances happening in technology and it’s becoming evident that computers, machines, robots, and algorithms are going to be able to do most of the routine, repetitive types of jobs and, A lot of different skill levels fall into that category. It’s not just about lower-skilled jobs either. People with college degrees, even professional degrees, people like lawyers are doing things that ultimately are predictable. A lot of those jobs are going to be susceptible over time.
ReplyDelete2. Computer's, intelligent machines, and robots seem like the workforce of the future. And as more and more jobs are replaced by technology, people will have less work to do and ultimately will be sustained by payments from the government, predicts Elon Musk, the iconic Silicon Valley futurist who is the founder and CEO of SolarCity, Tesla, and SpaceX but mainly I would the government will step up with school and education and having higher degrees right out school and make people get what they work for.
3. I would say robots will take the industry of manufacture of car ,building items we need and others source of items but it would jobs that have no skills need or just something that needs to done fast not slow.
1. Robots will likely not replace people in the workforce because that would be taking jobs away from hard working people. Robots may be added in to the workforce but they will not replace the hard working people.
ReplyDelete2.If the government were to replace people with robots in the workplace then they would have to create more jobs for the people who need them. Jobs are a huge thing in the world right now and many people work hard day in and day out so the government would need to give people options that pay the same amount for this to become a reality.
3.Robots could replace soldiers in war so that we are not putting peoples life at risk for the sake of the country. Robots could also replace many jobs that require you to put your body at risk.
1. I do believe in many areas of the workforce robots will take over, but in some parts of it like more creative jobs, they will not. And in some situations some companies may advertise that their product was made by a human, such as some companies market that there product was made in the USA and not China. Of course such product may be more expensive,
ReplyDelete2. I think in some situations the government will pass bills, to stop robots from replacing humans or give companies some sort of reward for hiring humans.
3. Robots will obviously take over factory jobs, transportation and accounting as, many humans aren't good at math but all computers are good at math
1. If someone can save money by putting robots in the workforce then they will do it. Robots are already replacing people in the workforce for jobs in the factory. It used to be people making cars but that was to slow and the company had to pay the people, robots are faster and don’t need a paycheck, only power to run.
ReplyDelete2. The government will get more jobs to open up. Donald trump is already hiring more border patrol agents. Someone needs to make and repair the robots and there needs to be someone supplying it with power, however, it is possible to have a fully automated factory with only 5-10 people for maintenance and cleaning.
3. Robots will mostly replace factory jobs, they could also replace the people who answer the phone for businesses.
1. Yes I do believe that robots will eventually take over the workplace. I believe this as companies will see robots as a cheaper option for getting work done. Unlike humans, robots don't need to be payed for their work and only would require some maintenance. Another reason why I see robots taking over is that it is already happening in our society. Amazon is even using machines in their workplace, but with human workers.
ReplyDelete2. I think the government will attempt to find ways to make companies hire human workers through laws or bills. They would have to do this as many people would lose their jobs and their lives. Another option is what Elon Musk said which is everyone gets money from the government, but I personally don't believe this would work out.
3. Robots will replace factory jobs as they are cheaper and don't make as many mistakes as humans. Robots will also begin to take over dangerous jobs that can cause harm to human workers. Robots will also take over driving as we can see with the self driving cars.
1.Machines may take over a large amount of workplace positions.
ReplyDelete2.Maybe if it becomes to big of an issue.
3.Factory jobs and maybe even more dangerous jobs.
1) No, robots will take over a good portion of jobs but I doubt that they will completely rule to working industry. The majority of jobs will still be operated by humans, else the economy will collapse.
ReplyDelete2) There will be regulations put in place that allows for a codependent workplace between robots and humans. If there weren't any regulations put in place, everything would crumble, so the government has to do something about it and giving people a some of money every so often wouldn't work out in the nation's favor.
3) Mainly factory work and high risk jobs will be replaced with robots because then the casualty rate of workers will decline drastically. Perhaps opening other jobs up in other places.
1) As technology grows, so will its role in the workforce. I do think that robots will take a good amount of space in simple jobs that don't require a lot of skill. Humans will still have to work in creative jobs, jobs that require a good amount of college and knowledge such as engineering or government jobs, and maintaining these robots constantly. If robots replaced the entire workforce, then the economy would collapse. People wouldn't make any money while corporations would buy more robots and make more money since in the long run robots don't have to be paid, only maintained. With nobody working, products would become cheaper due to inflation and we would revert back to people being paid only a few coins for working on farms and stuff like that. That's my prediction though.
ReplyDelete2) Regulations have to be put in place because if they aren't, people will be fired and robots will take over and everything that I stated above will happen with the economy collapsing.
3) Robots will replace simple/labor jobs such as factory work and if AI improves then maybe even cast the daily news or manage the cameras (like zoom in or focus automatically without a camera man). Military jobs will most definitely be replaced as well.
1. I believe most jobs that can be replaced by robots will be replaced by robots. There are some jobs, however, that just can’t be replaced by robots unless we developed true Artificial Intelligence, and at that point we’ve probably gone too far. Robots will replace all factory workers and many other jobs, because they’re cheaper than paying actual people to do the jobs. However we will need people to keep doing jobs that you actually have to think to do.
ReplyDelete2. I think a way our government could deal with this is possibly expanding programs to put people into more jobs, possibly adding a tax for corporations that use robots instead of people, or pay businesses that employ actual people.
3. Robots will replace almost all jobs that have a set thing to do. Obviously, right now the robots aren’t able to think like a human, so they couldn’t do any jobs that have an element of randomness to them. Therefore, robots could do things like make food in restaurants, make products in factories, basically any job that some set thing is mass produced. People will still be needed to design these things and to ‘teach’ the robots to do them.
1. Under our current system it is impossible to replace our workforce with robots as our system relies on people to be paid to purchase the goods that are created. However they have had the potential to replace possibly millions of jobs for a few years now. The reason companies are not replacing jobs on such a large scale is due to, again, the fact that no one would have money to spend on the stuff the robots produce.
ReplyDelete2. Our current government could slap on a few regulations to reduce the amount of jobs to be replaced (certain types, to what extent, etc.) or a fundamental change in the system would need to be implemented. Our system naturally works to where it is impractical to automate massive amounts of the workforce so there is generally little that the government would have to do to change automation.
3. Jobs that are largely centered around manufacturing, hazards, and computers are already being automated and I do not see this changing as long as the current system remains.
Yea I am pretty certain that robots are gonna take a lot of jobs humans currently have, but like only the easy jobs by that I mean basically jobs like making clothes or shoes. Stuff like that and manufacturing too. I say this because robots are getting a lot more advanced a lot faster than before because that is just how technology works. But, I also think that machines will not take every jobs humans currently have like harder working jobs that are not as easy to have robots do instead of humans. I believe robots will only take human jobs when it is profitable.
ReplyDeleteBut at some point I think someone like the president or something will make a law that says robots can only take a certain amount of jobs, because obviously at some point it will get insane how many jobs robots have over humans. I will also assume that in like fifty years, or however long it takes for robots to take over jobs that humans can do I feel like there will be way more and I mean way more jobs than there currently are in 2017. So it probably will not be that big of a deal hopefully. But if it is a big deal then I am pretty confident that someone will make a law saying that robots cannot take a certain amount of jobs, like robots will have like 10 million jobs and that is it, they cannot have any more than 10 million.
I think that robots will take over really boring jobs like working at a factory or answering a phone, also they will most likely take over jobs that are dangerous I do not really know of any dangerous jobs but I am pretty confident that robots will do those jobs, instead of risking human lives. They may also take over driving cars if they can get better at driving than humans, because I am pretty sure I have seen/ been told that robots are really bad at following traffic signals and laws.
1. I think robots will defiantly replace workers in the work face. They are much more efficient, more accurate, while simultaneously being cheaper than human workers for simple physical tasks. Companies will do whatever is financially beneficial. Humans are uniquely intelligent and capable since we are able to create tools to complete tasks. Robots and automation are the ultimate tool.
ReplyDelete2. I hope the government will begin to issue universal income as well as start taxing robots. This will likely not happen however I see it as the most viable solution to the elimination of jobs caused by robots.
3. Robots will replace mainly blue collar jobs. Jobs that require repetitive physical actions. Especially in the manufacturing field.
1. In some instances yes robots will take humans jobs. Robots wont complain about work conditions ( unless they become self aware). They will not complain about the pay and for some jobs, I am sure that robots can so better.
ReplyDelete2. The government will probably not care until it becomes a problem for them. People wont be too happy to have their jobs and their lives taken away by a piece of metal. So they will complain to the government.
3. Any jobs that require precision with little effort. A example from Charley and the Chocolate Factory. The father work at the conveyor belt and put toothpaste caps on tooth paste, but he and many other workers were replaced by robots that could do it much faster with little error.
1. Not entirely. I think there will always be jobs that will require a human element, but as robots get more and more advanced, that will start to be less and less. But even as robots replace humans in more and more jobs, there will always be jobs that only humans can do.
ReplyDelete2. I think the easiest way that government will avoid this situation is by mandating that certain jobs not remove the human element. There are simply some jobs that cannot function to the standard we have come to expect without that human element. For example, most jobs in a customer service or design field will still be human-dominated, but factories will be likely be minimally staffed by small numbers of repairmen until there are automated repair robots, enough that even worn-out repair robots can be repaired by other repair robots.
3. The easiest place to replace humans would be in assembly lines, automotive or otherwise. Most humans cannot work on an assembly line for long before they lose their effectiveness, and assembly robots have already begun to replace humans in confectionery, automotive, and intermediate good production.
1. I am a firm believer in the idea that robots and AI will replace the vast majority of us in the workforce. Machines can be programmed with precision to have precision and can create things with near perfection, something we humans cannot do. Machines and robots are capable of mass-production, for which in many instances is useful for our exponentially-growing world populations. Robots do not have to be paid and really have nothing to say when it comes to working conditions and the like.
ReplyDelete2. I believe our government would be rather supportive of robots taking over the workplace, but the fall would be the thus rising unemployment rate. Capitalism may end up failing and the government may have to switch our economic system because of this. The government would also not have to worry about its employees leaking information, but would rather keep classified data locked up on servers where hardly anyone can reach them.
3. Robots will end up replacing many manufacturing jobs and factory labor jobs. They may also end up replacing the many other jobs no one wants to do, like sewage work and picking up everyone’s garbage every week. The military is already experimenting with robotic super-soldiers as well, so that is also something to anticipate in the near future.
1.) Well considering I did a blog similar to this last year, I do know for a fact that they will eventually replace people in certain jobs, mainly because they are just more efficient than we are, they are precise, fast, and nearly unable to make mistakes.
ReplyDelete2.) I don’t think that they will do much to hinder robots becoming a part of the work force, as even though some jobs will be lost through robots replacing humans, I seen that it will actually open up more job offers, and while I’m not exactly the best economist, I am pretty sure that more jobs means a better economy, and all that good stuff, so I imagine the government wouldn’t go against it.
3.) Obviously some of the first would be some of the heavy kinds of jobs, where lifting and moving heavy objects is required, because robots can’t become fatigued and can carry loads much easier than people. Another kind of job that they would take would be ones that require more precise work, like possibly surgeon kind of work. Another thing they would replace humans in is certain jobs that involve danger to people, as that would nullify loss of life easily.
1. I think the robots will be able to do a majority of the jobs that humans do, but definitely not all of them. There are certain professions, like school teachers, that require an actual bring to function effectively. Unless the technology in robots takes a massive leap, there is still a long ways to go before a robot would be fit to school children.
ReplyDelete2. I think that the government will solve this problem by having robots only working in places that they actually do the job better than humans. such as factories or construction.
3. Robots have the potential to greatly improve the assembly line. Robots are already producing things like cars and other assembly line type construction things, but they may be able to do even more. Robot are also already fly planes, and that could possibly be carried over to the commercial flights, instead of simply military use.
Yes i do believe robots will eventually replace humans in the work force because humans are unreliable and many times can not be trusted. Every person has flaws and/or setbacks. Like if you need to take a day off a work because you are sick, or when you just take a normal vacation day. Well guess what!? NEWS FLASH, robots can work nonstop with a workload that is ridiculously huge that they always get done and they don't need breaks and no sick or vacation days.
ReplyDeleteI believe they will not let it go too far, like they would let robots do dangerous factory jobs that any normal person could be hurt in, but not normal jobs like working in fast food, i know this is already happening but i believe the government will eventually do something.
Like i said previously. Dangerous factory jobs that normally a person would work and have a likly chance to be fatally wounded.
1. Yes, I believe that there will come a time when robots make up a substantial portion of the workforce. That is simply the way that technology is going. Having said that, there are certain jobs that I don’t believe robots can ever fully replace, such as therapists or other jobs that do not have a set list of rules to follow. While robots are becoming more and more independent, they will always need some sort of guideline in order to be programmed. Take the robot who builds his own replacement parts as needed, for example. While this is an amazing advancement in the world of robot “thinking,” it only builds the part because it checks all its parts through diagnostics and then makes a decision. The decision itself is not pre-programmed, but the guidelines for determining whether a part needs to be replaced are set in code. Therefore, creative and intuitive jobs are not directly at risk in this revolution. But those jobs do not make up the vast majority of jobs in the world. The workforce as a whole is at risk for being replaced but I believe that certain jobs will be spared.
ReplyDelete2. Honestly, I believe this will be an extremely dangerous situation when it comes to government. If our government went into this state of having to pay monthly incomes, the people would become completely dependent on them. If the government were to ever go under, everyone would be in serious trouble. Not to mention the potential corruption that this could cause. I have no idea how the government would react to this situation, but I severely hope that it is not through subsidized incomes.
3. The robots will begin by replacing the manual labor jobs, as they have already begun to do. Gradually, they will move from less specialized jobs, and into more general management jobs, with more responsibilities and decisions to be made. I don’t believe that they will ever replace CEOs or anyone up that high on the business ladder, simply because those jobs are less defined in their duties, basically they hold a broader purpose than a robot could handle. Also, people like money, and those higher end jobs are especially lucrative. I don’t believe that robots will ever become artists, therapists, or teachers, or really any jobs that require a connection to the human state. Robots do not have the memories or experiences to associate with emotions, something that those jobs require. Other than those exceptions, I really believe that anything is up for being replaced.
1.I don’t think that robots will take over the human workforce I think that we will be working together as a team. Automation creates jobs to offset the human jobs it eliminates. You have to have a human make, design, and program a robot. Humans will always be important to the work force.
ReplyDelete1.The government will grant money to companies and schools to educate and retrain people working in the workforce with new jobs so that they can learn new skills so that they can be prepared for the future evolving skills.
3. Industrial jobs because it’s more efficient for robotic machines to assemble projects. I think robots will take over jobs that are very repetitive and that require minimal skills.
1) Yep, humans will most definitely be replaced by robots within the workforce. Society today lives on getting items that are good quality, quickly made and delivered, and cheap. Robots could cut the cost of products and services so low that people could frivolously spend their money on everything. Also, it would give humans more time to do practically whatever they want, whether it be travel the world, start a new business (to eventually automate), or just nothing. While this life sounds wonderful, two qualities of this life disturb me. First, a looming question is where humans will get the money tob buy anything. Without jobs in our capitalistic society, humans will have no means to pay for these services without support from somewhere. These articles suggested universal fixed incomes for everyone. This sounds great but also models ideals of socialism or communism that America and other countries stand against. However, that might me the world we are drifting towards. Second is the question of what motivation people will have to do anything. In a similar way to socialism and communism, automation takes out the passion to learn or advance yourself with education or through starting a business because that’s what the robots are here for. Why would I waste my time going to college when there’s no job for me to get? The only jobs that are going to be relevant are programmers and engineers in order to keep the robots up and running. Even then, it may get to a point where robots can repair each other. The point is that the motivation to do anything is taken away. Just like in Wall-E, we’ll all get lazy which doesn’t make for a good world.
ReplyDelete2) The government is surely going to have their hands full with this subject, mainly due to the mass unemployment that would occur. While we wouldn’t plunge into a deep depression, where are we going to get money to keep our country economically prosperous? Our country will have to pay its citizens which leads to questions about CEOs or other company higher ups who may get additional income from the company. Will taxes be paid by them or will the citizens pay taxes? Sounds confusing, right? Well, there are tons of different questions that would have to be settled if robots replaced the workforce. While some might accept it with grace, there are people that are going to fight against this. These are all issues the government is going to have to deal with.
3) I think robots will start by replacing lower-level jobs including fast food and other retail jobs because they’re relatively easy to replace. We already have online ordering, self-checkout cash registers, and other technologies like this. However, after securing this market and after further development, they could start to infiltrate higher-level jobs like doctors as their diagnosis could be more accurate than those of actual doctors. I think they will begin as partners alongside human doctors but they could eventually teach themselves to do it alone. From there, the only jobs that I think will remain in our current society will be programmers, engineers and government officials. While I am certain of government officials stay around in our current political structure, programmers and engineers could be wiped out through AI learning how to repair each other or make new robots themselves. Regardless, the only job that is truly safe is within the government.
1. I think robots will eventually take over the entire workforce and replace human jobs. Businesses won't have to worry about paychecks and labor laws if their employees are robots. They are fast, can work 24/7, precise, and consistent. People can be replaced by robots in a lot of jobs and it will be a cheaper asset to the company than a person.
ReplyDelete2. The government will handle this by heavily taxing the use of robots to make money so businesses don't keep all the money and it can be distributed to the people. Another path the government can take is offering more jobs that require humans. One job that needs a human to operate is teaching. Having a robot trying to teach kids would not work well. Other jobs can be programmers, engineers, and coders that can be hired by the government to design something that robots could not come up with.
3. The jobs I can see being replaced by robots are the ones that can have human errors. Taxi drivers will probably be replaced soon because of self-driving cars which computers control. With robots driving cars there will be less accidents caused by bad drivers. Another job will be factory workers, a factory line can be automated with robot arms. The products made by robots will come with no errors or flaws and will all be perfect.
1. I think that robots will replace us humans in the future, because robots are programmed/made to do things that humans can't do also they are programmed to do better things then humans. I think that in the future the only job that humans would have is making robots and fixing them.
ReplyDelete2. The government will most likely offer jobs that robots cannot do such as teaching and programming because humans need to program robots to do such things. I feel like the government will give jobs to robots that humans cannot do and that is why us humans are programming robots to do things humans cannot do.
3. I feel that robots are going to replace jobs that most humans cannot do like cleaning windows from large skyscrapers or being paid drivers, I think that they will replace paid drivers because they have already started doing this using Uber and Lyft.
1) Yes, I do believe that humans will be replaced by the robots, as it doesnt make sense to hire human who takes more salary doesnt give out that much of output versus the robot that will give out a lot of output with better and more accurate information. Robots also dont get tired, can work all day, and doesnt makes that much error, so it doesnt make sense why wont company get a robot instead of hiring someone.
ReplyDelete2) As robots replaces the work force, the government will be heavily affected in a form of less taxes as there will be more job less people in our society. Someone already mentioned before me that the government may tax companies more who uses robots, thats the only solution that looks viable to me.
3) Every job eventually but of-course it will take time, but in near future I think robots will replace or may be already have been replaced are workers in factories, transportation industries will be also be affected by self driving cars.
1. Yes I do believe that robots will soon take over and will make us more relaxed because we would be only doing the basics but, I think that would be a bad idea because, it would destroy the economy which means we can work and we won't get paid.
ReplyDelete2. To be honest, I have no clue what they would do since they are complete idiots.
3. And what Deep has said. I just still think that it is a bad idea.
1. Do you think that Robots will replace humans in the workforce? Why? (Explain in detail)
ReplyDeleteYes I do think robots will replace us in the workforce. Many manufacturing jobs will be replaced with robots but I think office jobs will not be fully replaced. It gets too complicated when you get into AI and I think AI will be banned because it would break the human race morally. What would happen if a computer could teach itself and expands so fast that as humans we feel like we were good at something then these computers school us and go so far ahead in technology and scientific advancement we as a race could not keep up. We would be useless and when we as a race are a bit like kings and then we get thrown on the floor by our own creation what do we do? Would we give the machine's rights or we be insignificant. If something that is not limited by emotions and is much faster than us school us at everything be too much for us? I think it is and that we should never build an AI unless they were super limited. This is such a hard question because this breaks what we think is us and it could tear humans apart. It sounds like Battlestar Galactica but as I thought about it, it is very dangerous and could end humanity. This would be such a surprising twist.
2. How do you think that our government will deal with this? Why?(Explain in detail)
They would support it at first until they realize their mistake and ban artificial intelligence. In the workforce it would be a huge benefit because america is not a manufacturing country but a creative country which we as a people are pushing towards. The government would fight that but they would lose because the manufacturing workforce will probably get smaller. We are a country of pushing forward and not really a country holding on to old jobs.
3. What jobs do you think robots will replace? Why?(Explain in detail)
Manufacturing which is mostly what they replaced already and fast food. In fast they just need to give you your food and you go, Done, it is fast and cheap. Office jobs will stay as they are but some consumer stuff will change with speed but it will never be fully replaced.

ReplyDelete1. Yes, I do think that automatons/robots will take over humans jobs. I really do think this because robots are just getting more and more advanced over year after year of getting more information about robots. Robots will really take over the jobs are use machines and stuff like that because robots are just going to be able to do all the work so much faster then the people working can, and that is a plus and also if the robots are just really well programed the robots would never mess up doing the job.My last point is that you would never have to play the robots for doing there work.
ReplyDelete2.The way the government would deal with this is most likely taxing the business that are using these robots because if people are not getting an job then there is going to be less people in a job, so the government would tax more then the usually do. The robots are probably going to cost a ton of money anyway.
3. The jobs that the robots are going to take a probably going to be like places that make food like fast food places would be a place. Also jobs that relay on step by step things too, like making stuff.
They would take over these jobs because it's just way quicker then using people.
1. It is entirely real possibility that robots will replace the workforce in different areas. The expansion of this kind of technology is a step towards a world where basic jobs can be handled by robots. Without any kind of problems that can arise when dealing with minimum wage workers, robots can be the best solution for a world where these jobs that no person is willing to take, when they are in high demand. Robots are becoming more advanced that the idea of making more to take jobs so that the more important, but less required, industries can flourish without the need for more people in the smaller jobs. More time for those that feel they could make better use of wasted time.
ReplyDelete2. The government can not just ignore the fact that people’s jobs will be taken away by machines. There has to be compensation for those that can just have their entire lives just stolen away by machines. As Musk states it could become a self sustaining society where the people are just given their wages for doing absolutely nothing. Sure there would be a need for some jobs, but overall there would be people who would require compensation rather than just increasing the amount of homeless people.
3. The jobs that would be taken would never be too intricate. The jobs that robots would take would be the ones that are repetitive. Doing practically the same thing over and over again. I don’t think any person would trust a robot for surgery or designing a building. The job of constructing the designed building however, could be put in the hands of robots specifically programmed for different tasks. The scientists and engineers who designed the robots would obviously try not to be replaced by their own creations. The robots would mostly take the menial labor jobs that no person really wants to have. Some jobs really just require an actual human mind in charge of them.
This is Griffin Barboro, my pvlearners isn't working so i'm using my normal Gmail
ReplyDelete1. Form natural scientific progression, I feel it is inevitable that we will invent machines that can do jobs better than any man enver could, and it will replace tons of manual labor jobs and that what not. But there will always be jobs that machines can never do like a human can. Take music for an example, we have long since invented machines that can play music, yet, we still pay a lot of money to watch humans play music.
2. I would hope that the government would adapt to the situation by promoting that education of skill required in non robotic replaced jobs.
3. Factory jobs will become a thing of the past, there will be no need for people to be running an assembly line, nor will their be a need for people to tend to farms and build buildings.
I do believe that robots will replace humans in the workforce. It's happened already, in everywhere from manufacturing to (almost) replacing human drivers in taxis and Ubers. Robots are far more accurate and reliable than humans will ever be with far lower costs, so naturally businesses will begin to integrate them into their businesses as they are engineered.
ReplyDelete2. One way the government could deal with this is a universal basic income. Elon Musk advocates for this, as he believes that humans will become less necessary as robots slowly take over most jobs. Unemployment rates will slowly rise until a universal basic income may become a necessity. Another possibility is the government taxing robots similarly to the people that they replace. By replacing humans in the workforce, robots deny the government from significant sums of money every year, and this money could be significant to establishing reforms to guide the country in the future. Furthermore, taxing robots provides more incentive toward keeping humans in the workplace, as these robots would be a heftier investment for companies.
3. I believe that robots will replace many, if not all, labor jobs. There are a few jobs that require extremely intricate skills that might resist the eventual robot takeover, but nearly all labor jobs will eventually be replaced by robots, because they are quicker, more reliable, and less expensive in the long run. Jobs that require creativity will be far tougher to replace, as an advanced AI would be necessary to complete the same tasks that their human counterparts do at the moment.
1.) Lots of jobs are going to be taken over by robots, but humans are definitely not going to be completely replaced. There's too many jobs that require specific human attention that there's no way a robot could do. However, with the rise of these machines, it will spawn new jobs, to take care of and repair these robots.
ReplyDelete2.) I don't think our government doesn't really have to do anything about this. They could promote people getting into robotics and things like that, but there's not much they can really do in this situation.
3.) Basic jobs that don't require human attention will probably be taken by robots. Pretty much all factories are run by robots, especially in making cars. Soon though taxis might be taken over by automated drivers. Also, jobs like cleaning will most definitely be taken over. Nobody wants to do that.
1.Do you think that Robots will replace humans in the workforce? Why? (Explain in detail)
ReplyDeleteYes low skill jobs tend to barely use your brain you just need common sense to complete the task a robot will easily be able to do it. The only jobs that will be left in the near future will probably be jobs that require a college education. The reason why is because why should a company pay more money to a person who can get sick, can be lazy and sometimes needs health benefits when you can pay for a robot that will be reliable and a lot more cheaper.
2.How do you think that our government will deal with this? Why?(Explain in detail)
Elon Musk says we will most likely have a universal basic income in the future most likely cause there won't be enough jobs for everyone in the future. This will be only thing that the government can do besides create more jobs(which will be really difficult probably) or they could give people incentives to want to go to college to get a higher level job that can't be completed by robots.
3.What jobs do you think robots will replace? Why?(Explain in detail)
At first I think it will replace factory jobs than it will replace fast food jobs, then it will replace transportation jobs. Further down the line it will replace the jobs of car mechanics police officers and construction. The jobs it will replace way in the future will be Medical and Lawyer jobs and jobs of that level.
1. I definitely think robots will replace human workers. They already have in jobs like factories and the auto motives industry.
ReplyDelete2. Our government will probably have new jobs for people to manage the robots that take over manual labor jobs.
3. Robots in the near future will replace, taxi drivers, truck drivers, and construction workers just to name a few. We will have no need to have humans take part in these manual labor jobs. These jobs are time consuming and can be done way more efficiently by robots. The only involvement humans will need in this industry are to manage the robots.
1.Do you think that Robots will replace humans in the workforce? Why? Yes I think this will happen, but not quickly, it will take a long time for this to happen, also if its gonna replace jobs, its gonna replace the easy jobs. Robots wont completely take over though, but they will eventually.
ReplyDelete2.How do you think that our government will deal with this? Why?
Honestly, I think they would care less, they would probably find a way to get humans to work too, like they could show how to manage and clean the robots for them to have top notch quality work, or they could just find new jobs in general that will get the people going.
3.What jobs do you think robots will replace? Why? First I think they will replace easy jobs a basic human can do, like cleaning bathrooms, construction working, cleaning the streets. Just easy stuff but then it will eventually do hard things like fly plains, drive cars, trucks, you get it.
1.) For most jobs, such as fast food production/delivery for example, can be easily handled by robots, and it certainly would not be hard to implement, as their precision and lack of corruptibility could easily replace most humans. Though more complex jobs would only require the ASSISTANCE of robots, not the full monty.
ReplyDelete2.) It seems that the government will go the way of the Industrial Revolution, placing those who were replaced by robots in factories that create new ones. Because where else would these people go? They aren't accomplished or qualified enough to get a higher up job, so this seems to be the only solution.
3.) As stated in one, fast food, maintenance, sanitary services, etc. will be almost entirely replaced by robots, save for a few humans in order to keep everything in line.
1. In the future i do not think robots will replace the work force because they do not hold the info like the human brain does. Also the economy would go down tremendously.
ReplyDelete2. I do not think the Government will allow this to happen. There is a lot of people out of jobs already and having more would be really bad. If this was to happen the government would do nothing about it in my own personal opinion.
3. The jobs i believe will be replaced if this were to happen is supermarket to stack products and such. Also Maintenance jobs would be taken because robots can do it faster.
1. I would like to think not because of the movie WALL-E kinda showed what would happen if we let technology do the work for us. We would grow big and bubbly and pretty much become useless because these robots are doing the living for us. I would think robots would only be taking the dangerous jobs so we don't die.
ReplyDelete2. I think our government would struggle a lot due to technology being expensive to study and to even make things. It’s a cool idea but do we really have the money to fund all this? I would hope the government is wise on what they spend money research on and not make a robot that delivers drinks to you. Hopefully they spend it one good reasearch on to help people and with medical needs.
3. I would hope that the jobs robots would replace are very dangerous ones with bombs and maybe fire, but in many articles you already see robots being made to do fast food restaurants and replace the workers, but that is still in testing and won't happen in the next few years or so. I would like it if they replaced people on bomb runs and fire house runs because we don't want to lose good people.
1.I think that eventually it may happen. Today most jobs use technology. Some places are already using robots. Jobs will always need a human part though or else nothing could get sold or made. Most human jobs would consist of technology. Most of the robot jobs would consist of packaging and making products. Some jobs like mcdonalds or even working at a restaurant will always need the human aspect. I would not want the workplace to be filled with a bunch of robots. If these robots had AI then maybe it would be a good idea. I think it would be a bad idea overall though.
ReplyDelete2.The government would probably approve. I believe that they want a safer workplace and are probably thinking that making robots work would be pretty safe. They would also have to figure out what to do with all the people that will go unemployed. It would probably be voted on. I think that it probably would not pass. It could be safe but people would need to be on site at all times. At the same time it would cut the number of work related injuries in half which is a benefit. Overall I really think that it would not pass if it really came down to it.
3.I think robots will replace high injury jobs. Jobs like machinery and construction would be most common probably. It most likely would not affect the places like mcdonalds or olive garden. It would never take over jobs that require psychology or anything that really requires human support. It would definitely take over all of the dangerous ones. Who knows maybe one day they will be fighting in wars like chappie. I am hoping that most of these jobs aren’t taken by these robots. Lots of people need jobs. Some people may be happy about this but it could also ruin lives.
1.No i do not think robots will be taking over the workplace for humans for a long time even with today technology.
ReplyDelete2.I actually don't know what the government would do if such a thing would happen but i know what would happen if robots did take over the work place, people would become poor.
3.One job that i think robot would take over is probably house keeping.
1. Maybe because people need jobs to get income and when you have a robot to do the work without paying the human can get to the ceo's head and wanting to have robot to do the job so they don't have to pay more people. So it can go both ways in yes and no.
ReplyDelete2. The government can put a limit on how many robots can be at a job but I think people will abuse the power and have more robots.
3. Any jobs they can think of, they already replaced making cars so they can fill a whole office of robots if they can get the coding right.
1. Yes, robots will replace humans eventually in the workforce. Computers are getting faster and faster each day and with the evolution of artificial intelligence robots will soon take the jobs of humans for example Google has made a self driving car and soon enough there will be self driving buses and taxis, even surgeons are being replaced by robots too.
ReplyDelete2. In my opinion I don't think that the govenment will let robots take over the workforce because people work to earn money and the government gets its money by taxing peoples pay checks which goes to fund the military, education, and to the cities, and without that how else will the government get money to support the country.
3. Robots would replace many jobs if they were in the workforce. Like the Google self driving cars would replace buses and taxis and even now surgeons are using robots to do surgery. Robots already replaced humans in manufacturing in my opinion.
1.Robot will not replace humans if the workforce one day for a few reasons they won't be able to do some jobs that are need for human emotions and without those emotions they won't be able to get done and there can be too many problems to fix the robots and with the movie terminator most people would not want robots to fix themselves for that one reason.
ReplyDelete2.I don't think the government won't fully let the robots take over because they will be programmed to do the right thing and if they wanted to get by with something they will not be able to do so because the robots might stop them and they cant be bribed with money and or be blackmailed
3.they might be replaced soldiers and heave lifting jobs with construction to help them out and make it easier on us.
1) I do not think that robots will replace humans in the entire workforce. There will always be a desire for human interaction for transactions, and various things require humans, like scientific research, inventing, etc. They will, however, offer a cheaper alternative for various low education jobs like factory work.
ReplyDelete2) I do not think that the government will get too involved in the near future, but looking ahead they might get involved in legislating certain amounts of human employment to ensure that unemployment doesn't skyrocket, but it is no guarantee that this will even be necessary. The industrial revolution allowed for the much more efficient and cheaper production, and an alternative to humans, yet still human employment remains. I think this shows that it is quite possible that new jobs will be created in the near future that can only be occupied by humans, at least for the time being.
3) I think robots will replace factories, like they have already started, as well as simple jobs like servers.
1. Robots will someday replace the MAJORITY of the human workforce, but not the entirety of it. Robots are great for following a set process, and can easily get something more intricate done a lot faster than if someone was to do it by hand.
ReplyDelete2. Their isn't much the government CAN do. they can pay unemployed people the average wage a year, but that would stir our country towards communism. If they don't help pay for the people who lost their jobs, millions of people will become homeless and our country would fall apart.
3. Robots are going to take over pretty much all jobs that are just basic assembly of things (this has already happened though). Soon enough robots are going to be smart enough that they could replace all accountants, with their advanced A.I. and light speed math calculations.
1. Robots are most likely to replace humans work position because they can stay longer and produce more than humans. But failure is also a thing they can do.
ReplyDelete2. The government cannot really do anything because the owner of the company can make their own decision to have robots working because they are the people who make the thing possible.
3. I think robots would replace more big companies because they wouldn't have to pay people for doing the work, they need to keep making sure the robots don't dysfunction and stop working for any reason. Another reason to them going is because cheaper payments can make a big different.
