  1. 1. Compare and contrast the Google Daydream VR and the Samsung Gear VR. (Explain in detail) With the Daydream View headset is lightweight and designed to fit comfortably over most eyeglasses. Plus, it's removable to wash whenever you like plus The small yet powerful Daydream controller lets you interact with the virtual world the same way you do in the real world. Swing a bat, steer an airship, or even cast a spell with a magic wand and also can change the volume. With the Gear VR it has a Strap holder Anchored securely to handle epic moves and with the weight of 345 g and 312 g without front cover and with Foam cushioning and with home key, back key and touch pad to go back to home and go back where you went off with the back key but they are the same in one way and that is cushioning.

    2. What feature do you like most on the Google Daydream? (Explain in detail) The has a great way of using the remote on it with a sensor that you can move and to change the volume and home button plus you can clean it.

    3. What feature do you like most of the Samsung Gear VR? (Explain in detail) I like how the Samsung Gear VR has a Micro USB for the Galaxy S7, S7 edge, Note 5, S6 edge+, S6, S6 edge and with the Oculus Home.

    4. Which VR device would you get? Why? (Explain in detail) I like the Samsung Gear VR because you don’t have to find the remoter but on the headset and you get a bigger field of view, smoother images. Incredible low light leakage and reflection prevention. It's game on.

  2. 1. The Daydream VR headset by Google, is a brand new headset that is only currently compatible with the Google Pixel, and runs off of compatible devices. It’s crafted out of fabric, rather than Samsung’s hard plastic on the Gear VR and has a remote that can be used as a controller. Samsung’s headset, works only with their flagship phones and has both a touchpad, and function keys for going home, back, or changing the volume.

    2. I like that the Google Daydream comes with Daydream compatibility that will be built into select phones that are made from here on out. This way, you won’t have a bad experience when you are using the Daydream VR.

    3. I like that the Gear VR is made in partnership with Oculus, so you know you’re getting the most refined experience Oculus can deliver.

    4. I would get the Google Daydream as it will have more support for future devices, and not just Samsung phones. It also comes with a remote so you can manipulate your applications better. With the daydream it can also detect where your screen is, so it will align with the lenses better than the Gear VR will.

  3. 1. The Daydream VR is a VR headset that has been made by google and and is currently only compatible with Google Pixel, but more phones will be compatible with Daydream VR in the future. It comes with a remote that can be used as a controller. It can be used to play games and watch movies. The Samsung Gear VR is similar with what it can but it is only compatible with Samsung's flagship smartphones. It has the same home as the Oculus VR, so people who have used the Oculus rift will be familiar with the interface.

    2. The thing I like about the Daydream VR the most is that phones from different companies will be able to be compatible with VR even though it wasn't created by google.

    3. The feature I like most about the Samsung Gear VR is the fact that it has the same home as the Oculus, so it makes me feel more confident about the product since the Oculus Rift has been in development for a while.

    4. I would probably get the Samsung Gear VR since it has the same interface as the oculus rift. The image also looks really great on the Samsung Galaxy devices, and the display is very important to me.

  4. 1. The Day dream vr is built within fabric and the samsung vr is built with plastic. Also the daydream Vr is much lighter than the samsung vr. Lastly both headsets do not have iphone compatibility.

    2. My favorite feature on the google day dream vr is by far is the fact that it is made by fabric and also that it is much lighter.

    3. My favorite feature i have on the samsung vr is that is has a touchpad. A touch pad is very useful for various things and its a plus.

    4. The headset i would use is the Google day dream vr because it has more plus than it has negatives and it looks more like a better headset than samsung vr.

  5. 1) Google Day Dream is from google, they are new and pretty cool and comfortable, they are only compatible with the new google phone called pixel. The Samsung VR well its only for Samsung's. The Day dream is very light while the other headset is heavy set. The Day dream is made of nice soft fabrics, while the other is only glossy plastic.
    2) My favorite feature on the Day dream is that its nice soft fabric, and not that heavy so you wont get tired very quickly
    3) My favorite feature of the Samsung VR is that it is in partnership with Oculus rift so you know your probably getting good quality products.
    5) I would use the Day dream headset because it seems of better quality and plus its lightweight.

  6. 1. The Daydream is for the more common consumer. It is for people that got the Google Cardboard, honestly. You use it by putting your phone in the front of the eye holes, and then you use a little remote to control your VR. It's a very streamlined experience. From what I can see, the Gear VR hooks up with your phone as well to provide a VR experience. It has about the same specs as a Daydream but the device seems clunkier overall.
    2. The feature I like most about the Daydream is the remote. It's kind of like a Steam Controller where the analog stick is replaced by a smooth surface. It's also a very simple remote that is easy for the common person to use.
    3. What I like most about the Samsung Gear VR is the higher resolution images. It seems very nice on the eyes and I would love to have one just to experience it.
    4. I would get the Daydream for ease of access alone. It's a much simpler piece of hardware that I could enjoy without the hassle of setup.

  7. 1. The ideas behind both of them is to create the most simplistic yet efficient virtual reality by using the capabilities of the new phones. It is a piece of plastic and smooth cushions that block any excess light to come between the 2 inches of your eyes and the screen. The difference between the two is mostly the name brand, also the google version is much lighter than the Samsung but in turn it doesnt feel as well made.
    2. The coolest feature is the mini remote since your'e able to control the inside world, the rest is the same as on the Samsungs version
3.The Samsung version had better resolution but that is not very noticeble when your'e an inch away from it.
    4. Samsung, as good as google may make it they wont be able to make the same type of feel, bulkier is better sometimes... And i have a samsung phone so might aswell as stay and be loyal to the company.

    ReplyDelete
  8. 1. the difference between the both is on google headset you need a pixel or a pixel XL and the Samgsung one you need a phone not any kind of phone but it has to be later than note 5.

    2. the one thing i like about the google daydream is the mini remote you get to control the inside world.

3.one thing i like on the Samsung thing is it has a micro USB.

    4. the google because it looks better.

  9. 1.) Both of these VR devices seem to be very similar except for a few differences. The google one seems to be the most simple one, designed for the general consumer and not really meant to be used for a lot of things in general. The samsung one seems more equipped, with having a touchpad on the side aswell as a few buttons for controls. It even has it's own interface for doing tons of things. It also supports a micro usb.

2.) The fabric design on it seems really comfortable, as well as the cool remote it comes with for controlling it.

3.) I really like the cool interactive interface that is on the Samsung Gear, as well as the touch pad on the headset itself for controls.

4.) Out of these two I would probably go with the Samsung Gear.

  11. 1. To start off the Daydream is made by google while the Gear VR is made by samsung. The Daydream is designed to be a lightweight, fabric based VR device that is supposed to feel comfortable and natural. The Samsung Gear VR is bulkier, but is designed to give a more immersive experience, being powered by Oculus.

    2. I like the idea of a comfortable, easy to wear VR headset. As cool as VR is, they are bulky face headsets, so one that doesn't make my face hurt after use would be nice.

    3. I like the fact that it’s trying to go for a more immersive experience, with it using Oculus technology.

    4. I would get the Samsung Gear VR, if for the only reason being that I have a phone that could be compatible for it.

    ReplyDelete
  12. 1) The most obvious difference is their creators and therefore the compatible devices. The Samsung Gear VR is made by Samsung and is compatible with the Samsung S6s and S7s while the Google Daydream is made by Google and is compatible only with the Pixel and the future Google phones. The next big difference is how they are connected to the device. While the Samsung Gear has a microUSB connection to make it work with the device, Daydream simply has a strapped front that you place your phone in and strap in with no digital connection. This leads into the last major difference which is the controls for the VR. Samsung had buttons and a touchpad on the side of the device to interact with VR while Google has a small remote that has tons of sensors to fully control your experience. However, these devices are also quite similar as they both strap onto your head and have tons of apps. These apps range from movie-watching to gaming to star-gazing.

    2) The best feature on the Daydream is the design of it. It’s made of fabric that is soft and breathable to be much more comfortable and less hot than traditional VR. The problem with VR nowadays is how uncomfortable it is to wear for an extended period of time. This kind of fabric design makes it much more comfortable. I also like the external remote but don’t consider it my favorite feature as I feel it might be a bit too difficult to use when immersed in the VR world.

    3) The Samsung Gear’s best feature is simply the microUSB connection. Otherwise, it’s just normal VR. The microUSB connection allows for the side trackpad which might be clunky at first but seems to be something that would have a learning curve. However, by having the plugin, it had a much easier setup as it is quite clear what to do.

    4) Personally, if device compatibility wasn’t an issue, I’d go with the Daydream. Simply put, it looks much more comfortable than the clunky Samsung Gear. Also, in terms of apps, they are on similar playing fields so I’d still have access to all the apps the Samsung Gear has. Overall, the Google Daydream looks like a better device.

  13. 1. The Daydream was released this month and the price point is $79. It is compatible with two phones. It is very light weight coming in at 220g. It is covered in fabric with a colors choice of slate, snow, or crimson. It has a single motion remote control. The software requires Android Nougat and gives you about 2 years of apps and games.
The Samsung Gear was released on August of 2016 with a price point at $99. It is compatible with 6 phones. It comes in plastic and only has one color option of blue-black. It weights 345g. It has a touch pad on the head set and can support a Blue Tooth game pad. It does have a focus adjustment tool on device as well. The software content is exclusively from Occulus and is pre-installed.

    2. The comfort features of the Google Daydream is most appealing to me. I like that it is light weight and that the material is fabric.

    3. The Samsung Gear has a great selection of mobile virtual reality content. I also like the touch pad on the device for convenience and the ability to use a Blue Tooth game pad.

    4. I would prefer the Samsung Gear because of all the features it has. The software is by far more superior. I really like the touch pad built in the device. This is very convent.

  15. 1. There are a few difference between the Google Daydream VR and the Samsung Gear VR. The two competing companies have very similar VR viewers, but each has their own features. The Google Daydream VR headset includes a unique wireless motion sensor controller. It is more personalized with different colored breathable fabrics to match your clothes. It has a simplistic design and is also washable. The Samsung Gear VR includes features like a 101 degrees view and a focus adjustment wheel. The Samsung Gear is compatible with the newer Galaxy phones as of now and has a touch pad and buttons on the headset for easy access.

    2. The feature I like the most of the Google Daydream VR headset is the remote control included. I like that it has motion sensors, this would be useful for interactive games. The only problem would be is will the headset be useless if it is lost. The remote control seems like it will make using the headset easier.

    3. The feature I like the most on the Samsung Gear VR is that it is compatible with more than one phone. That means I could probably share with a friend if I don't want to buy it myself. I also like the reflection prevention because I'm pretty sure that any reflections will make you dizzy when wearing VR headsets.

    4. I would get the Samsung Gear VR over the Google Daydream VR just because the Google headset is only compatible with one phone. That phone is the Google Pixel and it is a few more hundred dollars than one of the cheaper Galaxy phones that are compatible with the Samsung Gear VR headset. Also the Samsung Gear VR looks to have more software already made for it that look very interesting like the Star Chart game.

  16. 1. Helping to usher in a new wave of technology, both the Google Daydream and Samsung Gear virtual reality goggles boast good reviews. The two sets of goggles serve the purpose of allowing the user to immerse themselves in the virtual world. While the Daydream is controlled by remote control, the Gear actually has buttons built in on the side of it for control. The Daydream is manufactured with fabric, as opposed to the heavier and harder plastic which the Gear is made from. Either way, both Google’s and Samsung’s are quality products meant to drive ideas in technology forward.

    2. Comfort is the most important thing to me when it comes to buying any new technology-based product, so I suppose the lightweightedness of the Daydream really catches my eye, as does the fabric it is made from. I much prefer it against the uncomfortable plastic which the Gear is made from.

    3. I feel like the Gear has more to offer, with its high-definition viewings, personal Oculus Home, and internet browsing. If I had to pick my favorite feature, I would select the ability to use the Star Chart app.

    4. I do not have an interest in either product, but if I had to choose, I would pick the Samsung Gear over the Google Daydream. Though I prefer comfort as a first when it comes to products, I am in preference for the Gear because of the many apps it has available, including Star Chart. The Gear also feels more complete than the Daydream, which seems very limited in what it can do.

    ReplyDelete
  17. 1. Samsung seems to have made a better product altogether. There is a focusing wheel and all this other stuff that the google VR does not.
    2. The Google Daydream looks like it might be a little more comfortable than the Samsung, but that's really it.
    3. I just the fact that it has side buttons on it.
    4. I don't think I would want to TV's nailed to my face in the first place but I would choose the SamSung just because it is supported by oculus and it looks better made.

  18. 1. The Google Daydream and the Samsung Gear are both VR devices and share plenty similarities and differences. Some similarities are they share are the vr games, movies, applications, and the design of the headset. Some huge differences is that the Gear VR has a touchpad and a focus adjustment wheel which the daydream doesn't have. Another difference is that the Daydream uses a min controller while the Gear doesn't.

    2. My favorite feature of the Daydream is the daydream controller. It allows for easily navigation of the daydream interface. It also makes the motion controls in games much simpler and easier to understand and use.

    3. The feature I like most about the Samsung gear is the touchpad. It is my favorite feature as it makes it easier to browse the interface of gear and means you don't need to use motion controls.

    4. I honestly would probably get the Google Daydream. I prefer the google daydream as it uses the google pixel phone over the Samsung galaxy phones. I also prefer the design of the device as it looks more comfortable and has more customization than the Samsung gear.

    ReplyDelete
  19. 1. The Google Daydream is built to be light and comfortable whereas the Samsung looks to still be comfortable but to be more sturdily built. The Daydream seems to mostly focus on watching video and playing some games, but the Samsung seems to be more focused on many other tasks, including watching video and playing games, but also like browsing the internet, looking at 360 videos and pictures, and more.

    2. The feature I like most about the Google Daydream is the remote. I’d much rather have a remote to control what I’m seeing very easily rather than having to put my hand up to the side of the mask every time I want to control something like with the Samsung.

    3. My favorite feature of the Samsung Gear VR is the apps that it looks to have. It seems to be able to do much more than the Google in terms of what you can play on it and what you can do.

    4. If I was going to buy one of these devices I would buy the Samsung Gear VR. There seems to be a lot more out there about it and they describe it a lot better on their website vs. Google’s website which doesn’t really talk about what theirs is capable of at all. Also, I would probably be able to get used to the controls on the mask with it and it looks to be a lot more sturdy and less likely to break than the Google Daydream. Also, as far as I can find, the Samsung Gear VR seems to be quite a bit less expensive than the Google Daydream.

    ReplyDelete
  20. 1. Well, for one thing, the Gear VR is actually made with the backing of Oculus (THE progenitor of virtual reality), while Google's Daydream headset seems to be something they've put together in-house. Another major difference that is noticeable right from the word go is the fact that the Daydream has a remote while the Gear VR is just a headset.

    2. One of my favorite features about the Daydream isn't necessarily the headset itself, but the handset used as its screen and processing center. The Google Pixel seems like an interesting device, something that I would definitely be interested in trying, even without the VR headset.

    3. Again, it's not so much about the headset itself, but I'd like to check if the resolution that the Gear VR boasts is really all they make it out to be. There's likely going to be a bit of a screen-door effect, but maybe Samsung have found a way to obfuscate it with the lenses or something like that.

    4. Why would I get one or the other when I could just get the Oculus Rift? Or the Razer HDK? Or the StarVR? The PC platform is really the only way to go when it comes to VR, even now with new competitors in the mobile market. Mobile devices just aren't cut out for everything they try to do -- a computer will always outclass it. Except portability. Lord knows how hard it is to lug around a computer case.

  21. 1. The Google Daydream VR and the Samsung Gear VR are two different takes on the VR industry. The Google Daydream is like a step up from the Google Cardboard- it's simple and has just enough for users to comfortably experience VR. The Gear is geared more toward gaming and an immersive VR experience, offering more features than the Daydream.

    2. The Daydream is just simple. It's light, sleek, and has a handheld controller- all amazing features.

    3. The Gear is more robust and offers a far wider selection of games and apps to use through the Oculus store, a big plus if one wishes to use this headset for gaming purposes.

    4. I'd get the Google Daydream. It's cheaper, simpler, and all I need, to be honest. I wouldn't be a heavy-duty VR user, just a casual one that messes around with it and watches movies and TV shows with it.

    ReplyDelete
  22. 1. Both the Daydream and the Gear are two different attempts at virtual reality, they are made by two different companies. While the Daydream might be more simple and cheap, the Gear has a lot more tools and uses.

    2. The Daydream looks easy to pick up and use, and checks of the list of what a casual person would want from a virtual reality headset.

    3. The Gear has the ability to browse the Internet, the thing I use technology for the most.

    4. Normally, I'd get neither out of motion sickness, but if I had to choose, I'd choose the Daydream, as it is cheaper.

    ReplyDelete
  23. 1. Daydream is more built for the general audience, where as the Samsung Gear is made for more of the exclusive audience.

    2. What i like most from the Daydream is that it is compatible with a majority of phones that are available.

    3. The best part about the Samsung gear is that it brings with it the Oculus name, so it has a certain amount of solid ground underneath it.

    4. If i were to get one, i would probably get the Daydream, simply because it seems more user friendly and compatible with more phones.

    ReplyDelete
  24. 1. The Google Daydream and Samsung Gear are both portable VR headsets that draw on the use of a smartphone to provide the experience. Samsung Gear is the more traditional, plastic headset that allows its users the technological comfort of an Occulus Rift backing. Google Daydream provides comfort in a more physical manner being made of fabric and elastic. When it comes to control, the two offer very different approaches. The Gear comes with a touchpad that is integrated directly into the headset, while the Daydream provides an external remote in order to navigate in the virtual world. In terms of applications and games, Gear is certainly better equipped with game offerings while Daydream provides much more common Google applications with a VR twist (such as YouTube, Maps, etc.).

    2. I really like the design choices that Google has made for the Daydream. VR headsets can have a tendency to be bulky and uncomfortable to wear. It is nice to see someone taking an entirely different approach by using fabric. I also appreciate the fact that it is washable, as I am sure that people can sometimes sweat while wearing VR headsets. Prior to the Daydream, there had not been a convenient way to fully clean them.

    3. Personally, I really like the fact that the phone plugs directly into the Samsung Gear. I am a great believer in wired connections. I believe that this provides for a more reliable experience. It also allows for a wider variety of interaction between the VR headset and the phone, as seen with the touchpad. The headset and phone become one device rather than one simply being the vehicle for the other.

    4. Honestly I am not sure which device I would purchase. At the moment, I would purchase Daydream for its structure and design, but Samsung Gear has much more technological backing and experience. I think I would wait for VR headsets to develop a little more before I made the decision of which (or even if) I would purchase.

    ReplyDelete
  25. 1.The Daydream is more for movies you and entertainment like that, while the gear looks more suitable for games .

    2. Easier to clean.

    3. Far more variable.

    4. Samsung gear for far more uses other tha\n visual entertainment.

  26. 1. The Daydream VR set is very lightweight and made to fit around glasses which is a pretty nice feature because a lot of people wear glasses and I personally wear glasses so, it would be even better for me. Furthermore the headset was made by Google and it only works on the Google Pixel but Google has addressed this and said they are going to make more phones compatible with it in the future. In contrast the Samsung GEAR VR only works with phones made by Samsung which is pretty bad again, but it is better than just being compatible with one phone, it also has buttons on it for changing the volume and for going back to the home.

    2. I think my favorite feature on the Google Daydream is how it has the comfortable cushioning and padding, so like you could use it for an extended period of time and it would not hurt your head which is a pretty nice feature to have. I also really like how it comes with a controller so you can easily use it without having a phone, which might be a problem for some people because currently the Google Daydream only works with the Google Pixel but in the future they will have multiple other phones compatible with the Google Daydream.

    3. My favorite feature about the Samsung Gear VR probably has to be how it works with more than one phone which is a really good thing about it, but still the amount of phones it works with is very limited it only works with like 6 other phones, the people making the Samsung Gear VR should probably do something about that because it is really bad. It is also designed very closely to the Oculus Rift because they have a partnership or something like that so it will probably be a very successful VR headset like the Oculus Rift because they will probably have very similar features and a design which is a really good thing for the Samsung Gear VR.

    4. To be honest I am not really sure what virtual reality device I would get, I would probably have to choose the Samsung Gear VR because it seems like it is much more practical than the Google Daydream because it has the ability to be used with more than one phone, I mean the Samsung Gear VR can only be used with Samsung flagship phones so that means like it would only work with like seven phones but still, that is much better than just one phone. Furthermore the Samsung Gear VR just looks like it is much higher quality and it also says it is lightweight which is a pretty amazing feature to have to be honest.

    ReplyDelete
  27. 1.The google daydream is more lightweight and has fabric in it so it makes it more comfortable and easy to carry. It also is made to fit around glasses so it could give someone who wears glasses a better experience. The Samsung VR has more controls, it has a touchpad and buttons on the side for volume and games.

2I like that it is more lightweight and has fabric so it could give me better comfort. I also like that it includes a mini remote so I could control on what I want to do.

3.What I like about the Samsung VR is that it is high definition, I also like that the Samsung Vr has a touchpad. Samsung is also partnered with Oculus. Oculus is the best brand for VR games so that will give the VR headset user a better experience.

    4. I would get the Samsung VR headset because I want high definition and because they are partnered with oculus, I know that the VR headset has upgrades than the Google Daydream. Also because the Samsung VR has a touchpad.

    ReplyDelete
  28. 1) The Google Daydream is lightweight and easier to carry and move around with due to its fabric around the frame. It is also made for those with vision impairments. Whereas the Samsung VR has a larger variety of buttons and features to allow for easier user accessibility.

    2) My favorite feature would be the fact that the Google Daydream is made for those with glasses along with the cloth frame.

    3) The thing that I enjoy about the Samsung Gear VR is that it has the ability to be used with not just a single phone, making it more usable for those with Samsung products.

    4) I'd pick the Samsung VR because I am a Samsung fan and also jump at the idea of touchscreen capabilities with virtual reality augmentations.

    ReplyDelete
  29. 1) The Google Daydream is lightweight and covered with fabric. The fabric makes it more comfortable and it can fit around glasses. It also comes with a remote control and can be used for games. The Samsung VR comes with more controls and is similar to the Oculus Rift.

    2) The fabric and lightweight features offer more comfort for a more engaging experience.

    3) The Samsung VR has a touchpad and can be used with more than one phone. It is also high definition and is similar to the Oculus, which I've used before.

    4) I would choose the Samsung VR just because my phone is a Samsung and I've used an Oculus Rift before.

  30. 1.) The biggest thing to compare between the Oculus and the Google Daydream is the features included in each device. Oculus has been out for far longer, therefore there is a plethora of features in comparison to the Daydream.Yet the Google Daydream definitely is not lacking in its own new features, such as accommodations for the visually impaired, as well as a lighter frame, made from fabric instead of plastic.

2.) The Google Daydream seems more for relaxation, like if you just wanted to slip on the headset and watch a few movies on Netflix through a little movie screen.

3.) The beautiful display of the Oculus would win me over however, just the quality is a feast to the eyes alone.

4.) I would have to choose the Samsung VR, as I would rather be more immersed than more comfortable, which really the view itself would remove from the sense of being uncomfortable.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 1.) The Google VR kind of seems to be used mainly for going through video apps and other such things, whereas the Samsung VR seemed to be more tuned to actual gaming in that it seems to support actual games better than Google’s, currently leaving simple mobile app “games” out for simplicity.
2.) While a small feature, I do kind of like how the device used with the VR is completely enclosed in it, as it makes it feel a little more secure when using it, especially if one was to look around enough, it would still remain in place well enough.
3.) The main things I like about the Samsung VR is for one, the actual design to it, as it has a nice slick look to it, and the other thing I really like about it is the touchpad on the side, allowing users to do simple enough things right there.
4.) All in all, I’d probably go with the Samsung VR, as it has a design I enjoy more, plus it would match well enough with the rest of the gear I carry, so might as well keep them all in the same group.

  32. 1. The Google VR is a more lightweight device and it is made with a fabric material. The Samsung VR is a heavier device and is made up of a plastic material. Samsung VR is mainly built for gamers and Google VR is more directed to people who want an entertainment device like movies and apps. But, both of these can almost do the same thing, it's mainly their purpose which is different.
    2. I like the fabric design on the Google VR.
    3. I like that it has a high performance for video games on the Samsung VR.
    4. If I were to get a VR headset, I would get the Samsung VR because I would like to use it for video games and I would like to play them at a high performance.

  34. 1. They are both Vr devices to be used with smartphones. One of their main differences is their build material. The Google Fiber is made out of cloth and plastic, where as the Gear VR is made of mostly plastic. The Daydream also has a remote control to be used with the headset where as the Gear VR has buttons directly on the side. The Gear VR is made specifically for samsung phones but all android phones can be used with the google daydream.

    2. I like it's build quality. I have used VR headsets before and my biggest problem with them is that they're really uncomfortable and heavy. The daydream appears to be particularly light and comfortable to wear. The external remote is also really useful.

    3. My Favorite features of the Samsung Gear VR is the buttons and phone connecting built into the side of the headset. The buttons are made possible by the micro usb connection which goes into the Samsung phones which can fit in the headset.

    4. I would get the Daydream. I like the external remote. The Gear VR requires the user to reach up and touch the side of the headset to control it, with the Daydream that simply isn't necessary.

  35. 1. They are pretty much the same except for the fact that they are made by different people and that they are made of different material. The daydream has a remote which is very helpful if you want to use your phone and still be in a vr experience. Other than that, there is not much of a difference.

    2. I mostly like how it is light and comfortable unlike many other vr headsets such as the Oculus Rift (when it was still in development). I also like how it has a remote so you don't have to take your phone out to do the action.

    3. I like how the vr headset actually has buttons on it and it is connected through a cable so your phones does not use more battery while in use. I also like how it has a touch pad so you can interact with your phone.

    4. I would honestly get neither because I have an iPhone 6. I would get the Speck Pocket‑VR though because it is specific for iOS devices, cheap, and is made by the company that made the case I have for it (Speck). But if I had to choose between the Gear VR or the Daydream, I would choose the daydream just because it has an actual remote so I don't have to feel around on the side of my head to use my phone.

  36. 1. Both the samsung gear vr and the google daydream. Both are lightweight, have comfortable head straps, and have breathable fabric around the eyes. Both are powered by phones. The google daydreaM has a motion controller that also has its own volume control. But what the google day dream has that the samsung gear vr does have is the oculus rift home like a home with in the headset you can watch netflix and choose ames and other options within.
    2. The day dream has great features like google photos and news like cnn as well as google arts and culture where you can see cities you've never seen before and take tours thru museum in far away places
    3. Unlike thee daydream the samsung gear vr has the oculus home and more games that are on other platforms such as minecraft and not just games that only the creators developed.
4.I would get the samsung vr because it seems to have a lot more interesting content than that of the google daydream

  37. 1) As most of people said before me, there is no difference is not much difference between Samsung gear vr and google daydream vr. The only difference is that google daydream is compatible with google pixel and Moto Z series by motorola while Samsung gear vr is only compatible with S6's and S7's.

    2) I like how daydream is also compatible with Motorola phones.

    3) I like how Samsung gear vr have home and back key on the device itself. It also has touch pad on it gives user some nice features.

    4) I would get Google daydream because of its built and how its more compatible with other devices(but it doesnt work with LG).

  38. 1. Samsung Gear specialties in Samsung products were the other can use anything that is google owned like Pixel or Moto's. Pretty much not a huge difference other than looks and phone uses.
    2. I like that it comes with a little controller and how it looks. It looks more comfy by the eye because it doesn't look completely plastic like other models.
    3. I like this because I feel it would give you a more accurate response because Samsung has been with these kinds of tech for years and how their phones are really nice. So ye.
    4. Most likely the Samsung one because i'm more used to their products and been around their phone for a bit too. Plus ill be upgraded to the S8 in the near future :).

  39. 1) Daydream headset is Much lighter and has a Bluetooth remote and it "plays smooth with Most devices". Samsung Headgear is ore advanced and has a micro charger input, it also has controls on the side of the head gear. But as we compare the two They both are comfortable and Both have the same visual.
    2) I like the fact that it comes with a remote because most headgear don't have remotes.
3)I like that how it has controls on the side of the headgear.
    4) I would get Samsung cause I've grew up with Samsung and I don't feel comfortable with switching to another company.

  40. 1. Both headsets have relatively the same idea. Basically creating a head mounted display for a relatively low price compared to other headsets because it is using a phone as the display. Rather than having to pay for a high quality display, they can just use something that they already have. The only problem is that the Daydream is obviously more limited. An example is seen with the usable phones for each. Gear uses the Samsung Galaxy series which is very popular so that will influence the sales in a positive manner while the Daydream is using Google and Motorola phone lines which are not as popular. Samsung has a much bigger and better phone market than Google. I had barely heard of the Daydream up until now while I have known about Gear for quite some time. The Daydream game library also just seems to have less appealing experiences. Both have similar things, but the libraries shown seem more appealing on Gear. Even though the Daydream headset seems more comfortable and convenient with a generally better looking experience, the Gear just has a big advantage with other categories.

    2. The overall convenience. The Google Daydream looks easier to setup and easier to handle. It looks soft and comfortable while Gear is a little more mechanical and less appealing. Controls are on a small remote and the headset just looks nicer and more customizable.

    3. The more exclusively shown experiences are more appealing with Gear VR for me at least. I have previous knowledge of Gear and I know that there are certain parts that feel like I would enjoy them. I believe what Samsung can do but Google is a mystery and I just feel better with Samsung in charge of the library

    4. Based on everything both has to offer I just feel much better with Gear VR. The Daydream could be an amazing experience but it just comes down to reliability and past experience. I already own an S5 and that just gives me a bias with Samsung with the past experience. I just think I’d be more satisfied.

  41. 1)The DayDream is kind of more conformable as it sounds with the fabric and it being light weight, the Samsung Gear doesn't really look at comfortable as the DayDream but still look good with the cushioning. The Samsung has more controls on the sides of it and has more gaming features to it unlike the DayDream.

2)The features that I like about the DayDream are that it is light weight so its not heavy to hold on your head, also it looks easier to setup than the Samsung Gear.

    3) I like the Samsung Gear because has the controls on the side on the Gear, that is a good feature also the Samsung Gear has more game then the DayDream.

    4) If I had to chose from the DayDream and Samsung I would most likely chose the Samsung Gear because it has more gaming quality's and I like to game once and a while. It would just be really cool to use one of them, so I don't really care what I get.

  42. 1) the Samsung Gear VR utilizes Samsung phones and devices to power its VR, while the Google Daydream using Google's Pixel and the Moto series phones. The Daydream seems to be much more comfortable because it is build of fabric all around, and really just functions as a fancy phone holder, but it also comes with a remote for use.

    2) I like the remote on the Daydream because it allows for a more complex interaction between the user and the device

    3) I like the gear because it has a much wider base of game creators and games.

    4) I would get the Samsung Gear VR because it is built specifically with Samsung phones in mind which is the kind of phone I own.

  43. 1.a.The daydream and samsung are meant for different phones.
    b.The daydream has a controler.
c.The samsung connects directly to your phone for better control.
d.Both of them are made for comfort.
e.You can do more things on the gear but the daydream can catchup due to the controler.

    2. The thing I like the most is the controler. It allows you to do a lot of thing from a tv remote to a tennis racket. Oculus might make one to compete.

3.The touchpad is a good feature that allows for more control and gaming. This device can be expanded on and it already has more buttons than the daydream.

    4. I would get the gear because my phone is not compatible with the daydream and the gear looks more expandable. The connection between the gear and the phone can allow so many extra possibilities, like extra batteries.

  44. 1.) the Google Daydream and Samsung Gear are VR machines that lets you look and see things all around the world and not in this world right in front of your very own eyes they have a full 360 degree view and come with straps and for your head and plug in spots for your phone.

2.)Personally the most amazing thing about the Google Daydream is the fact that it comes with a remote control which actually would be very useful because instead of having to find it on the headset which could be quite tricky.

3.) The coolest feature about the Samsung Gear is that you do pretty much anything with it you can watch movies play games look at constellations and even look at maps with world wonders and just really cool places that you may not know about.

4.) As of right now I would have to go with the Samsung Gear VR because to me it looks like it offers a lot more than the Google Daydream.

    2. I like it's build quality. I have used VR headsets before and my biggest problem with them is that they're really uncomfortable and heavy. The daydream appears to be particularly light and comfortable to wear. The external remote is also really useful.
3.The main things I like about the Samsung VR is for one, the actual design to it, as it has a nice slick look to it, and the other thing I really like about it is the touchpad on the side, allowing users to do simple enough things right there.
4.All in all, I’d probably go with the Samsung VR, as it has a design I enjoy more, plus it would match well enough with the rest of the gear I carry, so might as well keep them all in the same group.

  46. The Google Daydream and Samsung Gear are both virtual reality headsets. The main difference is that the Gear uses Galaxy Phones like the Galaxy S7 or Note 5. Daydream uses phones such as Axon7, Moto Z, and the Pixel

    2. My favorite things about the Daydream is that it comes with a controller to help control the user interface.

    3. I like that the Samsung Gear VR is more compatible with more phones the way it is right now.
    4. I would get the Samsung Gear VR because I have a samsung phone, and the Gear is only compatible with Samsung phones.

  47. The new vr headset for samsung galaxy s5 are best and cannot be matched up with any other kind of vr headset. A true virtual experience can be seen only through it.
