  1. 1. What are three ways you can protect yourself while on the internet? By having security virus protection that check in your files and see for a virus. Never download and tying off of the internet that's said it was free and. I will help my parents understand how to have fun and learn things online and teach them things about the Internet, computers and other technology.

    2. What ways are you protecting yourself while online? By checking everything in my internet browser or check my programmer that tells me that i have a virus or to check every on my computer.

What new security precautions will you be taking in the future? By not clicking to fast and see what I click on and not going for a scam.

  3. 1) Having virus protection is a great way to keep yourself protected from any hidden programs that might be within a program. Inspect a website to make sure it is safe and legitimate, and lastly, do virus scans often to make sure your computer is always safe.

    2) I have an antivirus protection and also have a very good idea of what is and is not safe to browse. Along with what is good and bad in terms of downloading.

    3) Perhaps having an internet malware detector that hides any illegitimate websites that contain any dangerous software that could ruin your computer or even your life.

  4. 1. You can get a VPN, don't click suspicious links, and keep your passwords secure. These are just a few ways you can keep yourself safe on the internet.

    2. I use an antivirus, I don't give out any of my passwords, and I'm planning on getting a VPN soon so that I can be protected from outside sources. Such as the government or other cyber threats you might run into online.

    3. I'm going to be keeping more of my important files on a flash drive so that if my computer ever gets a virus, or system 32 ever gets deleted, I can have a backup on hand. It's basically a system recovery drive that I keep in a chest.

  5. 1. One really good way of protecting yourself is by having antivirus software to protect you from people taking your information. Another way to protect yourself is by putting the least amount of personal information possible. Another way to protect yourself is by only going on websites that are secured.

    2. By checking what type of file you are downloading by checking the size, and feedback on the website if they have it. I don't go on any fish websites.

    3. I probably will invest in getting some antivirus software, and will back up my files.

  6. 1. Do not give away your information. Download an antivirus. Do not agree to meet up with someone you do not know unless someone you know trusts the person you are talking to.

    2. A good way to stay safe online is to download an antivirus called McAfee. It has a web extension that tells you whether the link is malicious or not before you even click on it.

    3. When I build my PC, I am going to get a 1 TB external hard drive so if needed, I can back up the things I need to. I will also possibly get a VPN (not sure how, but I can figure it out). I will also not do any surveys that can steal my information to download things.

  7. 1) Never give away any personal information such as passwords, address, etc. Have an effective antivirus software and scan your computer's files regularly. Stay away from click-bait articles and mistyped urls as they are usually scam and pop-up sites that bring nothing but trouble.

    2) I usually just go on the same array of websites that I trust when I go online as there is never any huge reason for me to stray from them. I also just use common sense and stay away from clearly scam sites and ads and I do not give any personal information about myself online.

    3) Work on my accuracy in typing so that I do not end up on sites like yuotube.com or any other variation on large site's urls as they are always going to be pop-up and scam filled.

  8. 1. One way you can protect yourself online is do not respond to requests for personal or account information online or on the phone. Another way is to install anti-virus software on your computer and keep it updated. Use the latest version of your web browser. Install security patches and software updates as soon as they are ready to install. lastly, stay away from phishing scams or websites that ask for little price with a high value.

    2. I'm protecting myself online by talking to people that i only know and not responding to unknown people. Another way i am protecting myself is going to known trusted websites.

    3. One safety precaution i learned that was helpful was installing the latest versions of an Anti-Virus of some sort.

  9. 1) First of all, never give any passwords, addresses, and so on. Install an antivirus such as Malware, and never click on pop ups or spam.

    2) I protect myself with an antivirus called Malware and just being smart and using common sense while online.

    3) I will back up my files just in case something goes wrong and I end up with a virus on my computer or something.

  10. 1. A good way to protects yourself from the internet is to always have your computer camera off at all times also with having virus protection programs and also to not click on unidentified links. And to not tell anyone your passwords accept your parents or guardians.

    2. I am protecting my computer and myself is me having an Anti Virus program and my computer camera off. And only talking to the people I know.

    3. I am going to keep my Anti Virus protection program up to date.

  11. 1. One way to protect yourself on the internet is to put an antivirus on your computer, so that it can protect you from malicious software. Another way is to not go onto websites that may harm your computer. And the third way is really basic. Don't give out any information or limit the amount of information you put on the internet like passwords and phone numbers.
    2. You can protect yourself by communicating to people that only you know.
    3. My future security precautions are to not download files from random websites that I'm not to familiar with.

  12. 1) One way is to not post stupid stuff online. By this, I mean, inappropriate pictures or dumb activities or really anything that you wouldn’t tell your grandma. While this is generally a good rule, most people ignore this basic rule for the glory, popularity and ‘cool factor’ they want to give off. Another tip is to keep your password and personal information to yourself. This is because there are people who look to exploit your information to steal your identity. Especially with the emergence of growing social media, it is becoming easier and easier to get all the needed information to apply for a loan or get a credit card in someone else’s name. So by keeping this information to yourself, it protects your identity better. Finally, don’t just go meet up with random people from the internet. Yes, you can make genuine friendships on the internet but it’s hard to determine if it’s genuine or not. So use common sense and don’t meet anyone from the internet unless you know them from elsewhere.

    2) I personally share very little on the internet which is why I’m so well protected. Yeah, I have a Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat but I only post if I’m at a specific place or am having a great time out. I don’t post information like where I live, my phone number, or other information that could be used to steal my identity. Additionally, I only let people see my profile if we are friends, meaning that I have to accept them first before they can see anything on my page. This is safer so someone I don’t know can’t know what I’m doing. I also don’t post anything inappropriate or just blatantly stupid so people don’t have material to blackmail me with and so I provide a good image of myself for people and employers.

    3) Right now, I’m pretty secure and see no improvements I can make in the future. I’m simply going to continue my security protocol and not share much of my life on social medias or the internet in general. It may seem strange to not share much on the internet but it’s for my own long term benefit as I don’t have to worry about applying for a job and having something inappropriate or negative about me coming up on a background search.

  13. 1.one is to never trust a site thats not trusted or a third world party website second is to dont mess with poeple, they could be more then what you think and then boom tthey could be a hacker. Third is to have a firewall for your computers so if a virus comes in it can protect it from your computer
    2. I don't go on anything else buy google drive,or google because i don't trust any other third world party websites that will put a virus on me
3.Right now I don't use my computer that much and my security protection ran out awhile ago so there's not much for me to do

  14. 1. You can put up and antivirus protection like Norton Internet Security. Don't go on dumb retarded websites that can possibly give you a virus, If it looks sketchy...then I advise not to explore further more, unless you want "Worms" & "Trojans". All in all, use common sense for Christ's sake!
    2. I have Norton's Internet Security! It's actually pretty good. Most of the time it can easily catch sketchy things on the internet and it helps a lot!
    2. I would just follow the rules of common sense! I would also back up my computer juts in case my files do get damaged by some weird virus and then potentially get the files back.

    ReplyDelete
  15. 1. I'm kind of surprised that most of these aren't actually common sense, but I guess young kids have to start somewhere. Have a secure password for each website you use, but also have a place where you store all of your passwords (my parents had one stored on our computer called "Birth Certificate Info). Remember to update it frequently, too. Beyond that, never tell anyone your passwords, and stay away from any sketchy websites.

    2. I've been dealing with these stupid popups for the last few months after I went digging through the internet for an old Skyrim mod that has apparently been taken down, and I just recently installed an antivirus software called Avast; it's free, and I don't seem to have any problems so far. I'll probably stay safe... for now.

    3. I'll definitely be setting different passwords. Maybe even passcodes (entire phrases or sentences), if the website will allow them. But yeah, I've been using variations of the same password for years, and will be changing it up more from now on.

    ReplyDelete
  16. 1.) Well there are some obvious ways people can keep themselves safe and secure on the internet. For one, again, obvious, because of common sense and it was like #1 on the first link, but don’t give any personal information out to any random stranger you meet online, even the smallest thing can compromise your safety. Another thing, again a more obvious one, is to keep your passwords to yourself, as if you were to hand out your passwords to people, you are gonna go down very fast. Another somewhat obvious one, don’t download suspicious things, because if you download something fishy, you might just give somebody access to your device, and from there all your personal details and other stuff you might have on it.
2.) I mean, I don’t do any of the things listed above, plus I don’t exactly meet up with any strangers online, I’m just typically smart enough to not do anything stupid, so as far as common sense stuff goes, I should be clear there.
3.) I could probably get some sort of anti-virus software on my laptop, if the thing ever gets fixed and back to me, that would probably help. I might also try using multiple different passwords for the heck of it, probably even a couple in Mando’a, nobody’d ever think to guess a password being a word from a fictional language, especially since I'm probably one of very few actually interested in actually learning enough Mando'a for no reason in particular.

  17. 1. For security online, You could use a VPN, refuse to give out passwords, and make sure you know where you are going when you click links.

    2. Personally, I refuse to give out passwords or other private info, and I rarely visit links I don't trust. This is after I had to completely wipe my computer and start from scratch after having a virus.

    3. In the future, I could get a VPN, for further protection, but I almost feel like that would be over the top, since I have not had any other problems since the first virus.

  18. There are many ways to protect yourself while you are online, Some of them includes installing certain software's or anti-virus programs to keep your computer free of virus or other harmful effects. Another way is to keep the websites that you explore limited, don't go to unknown websites or ones that you may not be able to trust. DO NOT download anything a website tells you to download. Most of the time it is a scam and they are trying to access your computer and the information on it.

I protect myself online by downloading a program called mcafee-antivirus and it protects my computer. I also do not go to unknown websites that can possibly harm my computer.

I have already taken the precautions. I am normally very safe over the computer and I don't think I have ever gotten a virus.

  19. 1. There are tons of different ways to protect yourself online. You can have anti-virus programs to protect yourself from attacks trying to steal your information. Another way is to avoid ad filled sites with pop up boxes, these usually clutter everything and try to convince you that you aren't safe. A third way is to be cautious of what information you post online. Any personal information should not be shared with strangers or "friends" online.

    2. I have anti-virus programs on my devices, and I only go onto websites I know are safe.

    3. I feel that I am mostly safe with what I do online, considering I don't post anything in general on social media and I already have anti-virus programs installed.

  20. 1. One way to protect yourself while on the internet is to use antivirus software to help avoid malware and viruses. Another way is to avoid any suspicious or sketchy sites or links as there could very easily do you or your computer harm. You should also be very selective on who you give your personal information to online.
    2. I use my brain and don’t click use any websites that I think could be dangerous to my computer, I also don't really give out my information to anyone.
    3. I will keep doing what i'm currently doing, as it has seemed to have worked for me so far. I have yet to get a vires of any dangerous malware and plan to not get any for as long as I can help it.

  21. 1) If you want to be secure on the internet you should never give out passwords, and only give your email to legit websites. Don't believe ads that say something like "Kathy wants to hook up (2 miles away)" If you are using websites that might get you in trouble with the law or you are torrenting things use a good VPN, this way no body will know your IP address. Most VPNs are not very expensive and get the job done.

    2) I do not download anything that doesn't seem legit. If I accidentally do, I delete it right away. I never give away any personal information.

    3) I already am as safe as possible. I use all of the things I explained

    ReplyDelete
  22. 1) Things that you need stay protected on the internet are that you don't want to give any of your personal information to anybody you may be playing with. The second thing is that you don't want to post anything bad about yourself because what stays on the internet always stays. Last, you don't give any passwords to anybody but yourself.

2)I protect myself on the internet because I don't go on sites that would be dangerous to me. I just play games and do homework mostly so I don't do anything that bad.

3)Know that I read some of the things I am going to make sure that I don't tell any of my personal stuff even if the game may say it might be a trap. Also I am gonna be safe on what I say on the internet and what I do.

    ReplyDelete
  23. 1. One way to protect yourself on the Internet is to not give any personal information. Name, address, passwords, etc. Don't get involved with anything that would be detrimental to your person. Don't trust anyone that you do not know. When you get emails asking to download something or give info. Just don't.

    2. I make sure that nothing is known about me so that I am not targeted.

    3. I will just be keeping to myself and not letting any info get to people it shouldn't.

    ReplyDelete
  24. 1. One way you can stay protected on the internet is to not give out any personal information or passwords to sketchy sites or emails. Some examples of something sketchy are phishing scams which trick people into giving cybercriminals by personal information and passwords through their emails. Another way to stay protected on the internet is to use ad blocker. With ad blocker many ads that can lead to bad sites are stopped. One last way to stay safe is to have a antivirus software and scan your system every week. This will add more protection to your system and will eliminate any programs that can effect your safety on the internet.

    2. I protect myself on the internet in many ways. One way is I always run ad-blocker so I don't have to worry about bad ads. Another way is I use multiple antivirus programs and run them every week. One last way is I used a VPN, so I don't need to worry about people finding my IP.

    3. In my opinion I think I very protected already on the internet and don't need any more pro cations. One thing I will do though is read more of the documents or emails I get.

    ReplyDelete
  25. 1. Three ways to protect oneself while on the internet are by avoiding giving out personal information, never meeting someone without checking with one's parents, and not responding to messages that are derogatory or mean.

    2. I keep my personal information that is on the internet to a very minimum- I don't have social media- and I do not talk with anyone that I have not met first in person. By using these precautions, I have kept myself safe from harm and in good shape online.

    3. To be honest, I'm already very cautious online. In the future, I will make sure to double-check that websites are secure (begin with https and not http), but other than that, I should be fine.

    ReplyDelete
  26. 1. One basic way to protect yourself from the potential hazards the internet possess is to not give out any basic information like your home address for example. If you really want to go the advanced way of protecting your privacy is to connect to a VPN(Virtual Private Network). It denies your certain ISP or the government to track your every move to invade your privacy. There are more but that's just about what I can give out.
    2. As I mentioned earlier, an individual like myself can be easily protected by not giving out basic info online. To add,I also use the incognito mode to avoid certain malicious websites that might track you. btw, I use Mozilla, so their incognito mode or private browsing mode has tracking protection. So if you want a shield, go Mozilla :v
    3. For the future, I wouldn't really need some more security precautions in the future because asking for and putting more security measures means that I would have been hiding something that should be well hidden. I mean I get it if in the future, if I ever became a big shot, of course I would need more security protocols. I would even hire some certain companies out there that specializes in that criteria.

    ReplyDelete
  27. 1. One way to protect yourself online is to never give out any personal information to anyone you don’t actually know. Another way to protect yourself is to not visit any suspicious links that you find anywhere. A third security tip online is to use different passwords for every website so that if one password gets compromised somehow, all of the rest are not.

    2. Some things I do to protect myself online are all the tips I put in my answer to the first question, I always use an adblocker, a VPN, and an antivirus, and I use some other extensions that block malicious things and other stuff.

    3. In the future I’ll probably use even more extensions for security and be extra vigilant to every link I click and everything I download. I’ll also start making more complex passwords so they can’t be gotten as easily.

    ReplyDelete
  28. 1. You can protect yourself online by keeping your antivirus updated, use varied passwords, and think logically before clicking something, or giving away information.

    2. I constantly use Avast, the most trusted free antivirus, erase suspicious cookies, and use incognito mode whenever possible.

    3. I will try to purchase things more, instead of streaming them off of potentially dangerous websites, and I'll try to keep my passwords more varied.

    ReplyDelete
  29. 1.you can protect yourself with antivirus software that keeps people from invading your computer and holding your files for ransom.another way to protect yourself is don't fill out your social media with all your information.

2.I use securities essentials from Microsoft because it is free and available to everyone.

    3. I'm not going to look at any emails in my spam inbox anymore because thats how they get you.

    ReplyDelete
  30. 1) You can protect yourself is install mcAfee which shows you which sites are verified and virus free, never share your personal info with someone, and take precaution before clicking any websites.

    2) As I mentioned above, I use McAfee, I dont use my private info to someone, and also I do a full scan for viruses on my laptop every once a month.

    3) I will add ADDblocks and all the various kind of antivirus softwares.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 1.) Obvious ways to protect yourself on the internet is to put virus protection software for your computer on your system, don't put your information online unless absolutely necessary, and run scans on files you download from sites.

2.) I for one protect myself on the internet by keeping multiple security apps on my mobile devices such as CM Security and Droid Protector, and for my computers I run monthly diagnostics tests to ensure that the systems are free of worthless junk files and malware.

3.) Other than adblock, I most likely will be fine with the routine I have now.

  36. 1.) Having great security is always best for protection against hackers. AntiVirus such as AVG or having a disguised location like VPN(Virtual Private Network. The iPhone have well protected security measurement as to where android allows third parties to interact with the user.
2.) Same rules apply as in real life situations, don’t talk to strangers, don’t give out private information, and do not fall for scams online such as ebay. When buying items, one way to make sure that it is not a scam is to check their history.
3.) My devices are protected with antivirus or built in protection. Now that I have smart TV, I have to be careful on which websites to use. I heard of websites such as the Deepweb and Hidden wiki which are hard to get to and exposes your information across the world.

    ReplyDelete
  37. 1. One of the ways you can protect yourself from the internet by using a VPN. This allows you to hide your location. You can also use an anti virus such as Norton or MCaffee. Also use common sense.
    2. I use common sense like, don’t trust sketchy links, don't click any download buttons and if its free, it’s probably a virus.
    3. I guess in the future to further protect myself, I will use a VPN to hide and move my location, that way if anyone tries to find me they won’t be able too.

  38. 1) There are a variety of ways to protect yourself on the internet. The first is to install ad and pop-up blockers, as they reduce the risk of accidentally clicking on a link that leads to malicious content. You can also use a VPN or proxy server, which allows for much more private browsing of the internet, while also allowing for the user to avoid existing blocks. The third way is to install effective anti-virus software.
    2) I protect myself by using both a proxy server and an ad blocker, while also being careful with what I do on the internet and avoid suspicious content.
    3) There isn't much more I can do in regards to security without going hardcore and turning into one of those "hacker dudes" living in their grandparents basement.

2.) I already have a good sense of whats going on, so I don't go on any bad websites or give out information.

3.) I already am pretty safe whenever I'm using the internet, so theres not really any new precautions I need to take.

    2. I'm always careful about who contacts me or who i'm talking too when on the internet, and how i keep my personal information.

  43. 1. Good way is to have a good Virus protection software that blocks them hackers away. Another way is to not piss anybody off in the internet and to not download sketchy stuff. Last good way would be is maybe have a VPN active so you can browse privately and not monitored by others.
    2. One common way people protect themselves is to not sign up in a game or something else with their actual name on display. Because if they get your name they can find stuff about you much easier.
    3. Actually pay for a virus protection software and not download edgy stuff. Could help my computer out and not mess it up.

    3) For my safety in my future I would actually purchase The Highest security.

  45. 1). Healthy browsing habits is the most important part of internet safety. Watch what you open and don't do to sketchy sites. Firewall and Antivirus software is in place to keep you safe from anything you let get past your better judgement. Staying up to date on news and new threats can be extremely useful to avoid future issues.

2). All of the things above. Running frequent security scans is something I try to keep up with.

3). I'd consider myself very safe when it comes to Internet safety. Changing passwords routinely would make my security even better, so I might have to consider that.

  46. 1. You can protect yourself a variety of ways. Three easy and great ways to protect yourself is, use strong passwords, use strong discretion, and have an anti virus installed. Using a strong password is easy. Simple include a variety of characters, and symbols, including numbers and upper and lowercase letters. Using your discretion is also easy. Don't go to sketchy websites is all it means, and do not download questionable files as there is a chance the file might be a virus. Having an anti virus will help with this as well as it will protect your computer against malware.

    2. I use a key scrambler as well as malware bytes. I also exercise strict precautions when downloading files. Whenever I download something sketchy I upload it to virustotal.com which scans it with 10 servers.

    3. I will try and use stronger passwords. I also tend to use the same passwords for things which is bad.

  47. 1.A. Do not use your real name
    B. If you get a link from someone make sure it is real and not fake.
    C. Do not download everything you see.

    2. I always verify anything I am doing that can involve hurting the computer that so it does not get damaged. I do not give out my name unless I trust the person I am talking to. I also do everything in question 1.

    3. There is not much I learned from it since I do all of those precautions from experience because I have messed up before and now I am much more careful.

  48. 1.) A. never put your real date of birth this may sound stupid but it actually isn't because if you put your real date of birth then if a hacker finds it they can get into your records which can lead to very bad things

    B. if someone wants you to install a program do research about that said program.

    c. Don't and i repeat Don't ever go to free program (or whatever type of thing you are looking for) website unless you research about that site.

    2. I always do weekly scans of my phone and computer so that i am always up to date with what is happening to them.

    3. I have learned and deepened my knowledge about things that I would find to be " Malicious content".
