  1. 1. The internet is the biggest form platform on which to share information. The internet is a massive web of URL addresses. What may seem like an endless flow of information is actually a danger, this sheer amount of information involves every sort of worldly belief. Even encourages it.

    2. When Congress declared that the World Wide Web could be used for commercial use. SO many companies setup their own sites and soon began using it to sell products to users.

    3. From that the internet has grown into a massive social platform with the creation social networks, used for people to exchange information about their personal lives and to instant message people.

    4. I restrict myself from the internet to preserve and protect my spirituality and conscience. I only use the internet for the most necessary moments and needs, such as www.christianmingle.com.

  3. 1. The internet is a system of computers connected to each other that can share information with each other.

    2. The first public uses for the internet were to share files between researchers and scientists and when it really became more public, the World Wide Web was invented.

    3. The internet started out as a ‘weapon’ for the government to use, then it became a way for scientists and researchers to share information with each other, and eventually it became more mainstream and the general public could use it to communicate with each other, and since then it has remained largely the same although it has become much more efficient to use and almost everyone uses it.

    4. I use the internet for almost everything I do, from finding out something new (looking up information) to writing essays for school, to playing video games on my computer.

  6. 1. The Internet is the integration of hardware and software that allows devices to connect across long distances, outside of intranets. Unlike the Internet, intranets are small, and restricted to a single space, such as an office or a building.

    2. When the Internet first became available to the general public, it was mainly used for education and research at universities, so that multiple universities can collaborate over long distances.

    3. The Internet was originally a medium for multiple parties to send and receive information almost instantly; thus it was more limited to educational institutions and governments. When the government allowed the commercialization of the internet, however, businesses hurriedly set up websites to reach people across the world. Nowadays, it has become a daily staple, with hundreds of different practical uses for ordinary people.

    4. I use the Internet for many things. Most importantly, I take advantage of its practicality in the classroom, as I can easily complete, edit, and submit assignments using it, but I also use it to learn skills that I might need (mostly information on my latest hobby) as well as to entertain myself with games and movies (League of Legends).

    2. It was to send files and data from one computer to another. However, in 1991 the Internet changed again. That year, a computer programmer in Switzerland named Tim Berners-Lee introduced the World Wide Web: an Internet that was not simply a way to send files from one place to another but was itself a “web” of information that anyone on the Internet could retrieve. Berners-Lee created the Internet that we know today.

    3. The Internet was small then it went big with all the computer software like apple os x and with windows 10 it’s amazing how far we went with the Internet soon it's time with is great but we can make it bigger each timeline .

    4. I use the internet for gaming , coding, working and searching up anything that I want to know and it’s amazing what happens on the internet it is great .

  25. 1.) The internet is a tool for sharing data with others across an infinite platform such as google or other web browsers. The internet can be used to share information such as a current event happening or photos across a long or short distance to one or many people.
2.)The internet as first used to share information during the cold war by military soldiers in order to stay communicated and well aware of the enemy's position. When scientists first created their own satellite, the format they used was much more simpler. Afterward, Messages were being sent quickly and efficiently. Colleges then started to use the ARP ad that is when it grew rapidly into the internet.
3.) The internet has grew largely over the past years into something extravagant that is used on a daily bases making our lives easier. The internet contains information that can be used for research, sharing videos, and other sources of entertainment.
4.) I use the internet for research and entertainment as well as chatting with my friends. Safari is a web browser I use on a daily bases to look up information.

  30. 1. The internet is a global system of interconnected computer systems that links all mobile and technological devices together. It allows for people to find any information they're looking for through search engines such as Google or Bing.

    2. The internet was originally intended for officials to exchange information with each other, but it was soon commercialized. Along with the World Wide Web, it allowed for businesses to create their own websites for people to access, and soon buy products straight through their computers.

    3. When the Internet first came around it was quite basic and slow, but it has evolved into a massive complex social network that runs every factor of society. From only email and simple websites, now anything can be done on the internet, even replacing your television service or finding better deals online than you would find in stores.

    4. I use the internet to stream Netflix, go on Reddit & Twitter, and sell on eBay. I also tend to waste my money online shopping, while I avoid going outside to spend my income from my selling business.

  31. 1.) The Internet was originally a set of protocols designed to provide a secure channel for the military to communicate data. This then expanded to include scientists and researchers who used it to send results and data. Then Tim Berners-Lee proposed the idea of the “World Wide Web.” He proposed the idea that the Internet could house a vast amount of information that could be accessed by any computer in the world. Berners-Lee’s definition of the Internet is the definition that we use today. People all over the world use the Internet to communicate data (as the military did), research topics (as scientists did), and take from/give to the wealth of information that the Internet encompasses.

2.) At the beginning, the Internet was used primarily as a database-like resource. People viewed it as a web of information that was at their disposal. It was used primary for research and the simple sharing of data and information. One could argue that this is still what it is used for today, but the content has become slightly less scholarly. The Internet contained scientific reports, news stories, and various other records. All these things can still be found online, but the Internet has evolved to cater to social and entertainment needs as well (such as Facebook and Youtube). This type of “digital lifestyle” was not what was originally envisioned when the Internet began, but it is where we have ended up.

3.) As I have begun to discuss in prior answers, the Internet has taken on a scale that no one had ever anticipated. At first, it was used only by the military for important data transfers. It was intended to allow the military to get a leg up on foreign governments. Then it was expanded to include scientists to further the pursuit of discovery (often related to the military). When it was introduced to the public, the people were expected to use the Internet in the same manner that it had always been used. However, a problem arose because the American public does not have the same priorities as the American government. The public viewed it as a way to communicate with other people, not simply to share data. The Internet has thus taken on a purpose more in line with the desires of the public. This has allowed it to grow beyond the bounds of what even the government had imagined.

4.) Personally, I primarily use the Internet for entertainment as well as for work. I enjoy social media sites as well as online shopping, which would all fall under the former. I am also a part of pvlearners so therefore I finish and turn in a great majority of my school work online. Take this blog for instance. I would not be able to complete this blog assignment without the use of the Internet. The Internet was used to post the blog, to research my answer, and finally to respond.

  32. 1) The internet is a global interface for answering questions and entertainment that is accessed by WiFi and used by lots of people

    2) The internet was first used by the public to communicate to each other. After the world wide web it was used to communicate and look up and post anything.

    3) The internet has changed through the years by being faster and having more resources.

    4) I use the internet to watch YouTube and play games with my friends online.

  33. 1. The internet is a worldwide network of interconnected computers set up for purposes of communication as well as browsing and obtaining information. Though the internet was once only available to the American government and only served as a means of transferring small packets of information, the interface we now know and love is available to all.

    2. A Congress ruling in 1992 allowed for peoples of all kinds to have access to the World Wide Web. Business peoples flocked to create their own websites to advertise their brand and their company, also to sell their products.

    3. There are no limits with the Internet of today! There are informational websites, online databases to find information for research purposes, websites to make purchases on (such as Amazon and eBay), video streaming sites (such as Netflix), and many more! Perhaps the most commonly used type of sites would be the social networking ones like Facebook and Twitter. Worthy of a mention is the fact that the Internet of today is also a lot faster than the dial-up times of the 90s and early 2000s.

    4. My primary use of the Internet is in regards to my education, such as researching for papers and getting clarification on certain topics being taught in my classes. I do own a couple social media accounts but I do not use them so much.

    ReplyDelete
  34. 1.) As was stated by someone, “The internet is one of the few things that mankind created, that mankind does not understand”. The internet is basically a network of information that is spread worldwide and allows people to look up just about anything that their hearts desire. It also allows us to communicate with each other with extreme ease, making the world a whole lot smaller. The list of things that can be done with the internet is near endless
2.) It was mainly used for public purposes for people to look up information and look at pictures easily and safely, though before that it was used by scientists and government officials to share information with each other without worry that the Soviet Union could see it.
3.) For the most part around the origins of the internet, it remained the same idea for a couple years, from around 1969 to 1972 it remained used by strictly government forces to share information, with them adding more and more state’s internet data. Then during the 80’s it was just used for sharing information, and stayed that way until around 1991, when a computer programmer named Tim Berners-Lee created the “World Wide Web” which was a system that allowed for things other than the simple trading of files to one another. In 92 it was expanded by a group of students at the University of Illinois developed a browser that allowed people to safely and easily view text and images. Since that time the internet just exploded in popularity, with more features on it, such as abilities to communicate and do activities with each other.
4.) I use the internet for so many things, of which include school work, gaming, watching shows, and looking up information, usually pertaining to games. I use it for school work because we typically do everything via Google Docs, gaming because for one I usually play online games, and then various games across Steam that require internet, and then watch shows via Netflix or other apps on my computer, and lastly I use it to look up information on games because I don’t always have the luxury of using strategy guides (because I do prefer getting information in games that way), especially on older games, so I have to look on the internet to find what I need.

  35. 1.)The internet is a worldwide global system of interconnected computer networks that uses the internet protocol TCP.

2.)The internet was used to explored the web. As new sites were being made here and there it was a breeding grounds to intrapreneurs and small buissnesess to large all around. It was as well used for selling products and giving out news.

3.)The Internet is now being used for so much more than just sending out news. It is now being used for entertainment like youtube, vines, and more. Also it is being used for website creating, video games, creating documents, online interactions, etc. The internet is being used alot more now a days then it was back then.

4.)I usually use the internet for uploading entertainment or most;y to see entertainment. Also as well as online interactions and of course video games. The reason why I use it to upload is because I am a youtuber. Although when it comes to school I would have to put uploading aside and use it for researching and other school needs.

  36. 1. Basically the internet is a place where you can literally find anything like anything. You can use the internet to watch Netflix, YouTube, and to play video games. You can also use the internet to be able to download almost anything. You can also communicate with anyone even if they are across the world. It's basically a really big network with almost every ones computer connected to it, and using it.

    2. The original network of computers was called ARPANet. It was made by the Advanced Research Projects Agency at the United States Department of Defense (it's now called DARPA- the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency). The idea was to create a decentralized network with all the important information so that even if one datacenter was taken down, the rest of the network would be open. It was rather quickly taken over by universities who used it for communication and sharing data. The world wide web as we know it was created in 1989 at CERN in Switzerland, with the creation of the HyperText Markup Language (HTML) and the HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP), which allow formatted documents to be sent across the Internet.

    3. The internet was originally used for the military to send important data across the United States of America. When the internet was first introduced to the general public it was just used for the same thing but they would also use it to communicate with each other as the military did several years earlier, but only text not talking yet. But within recent times (10 years) the internet has completely changed, you can now stream videos, download files, talk to people, and playing games. The internet has also gotten much easier to access and use than it was 20 years ago.

    4. I personally use the internet to watch Netflix so I can watch my favorite TV shows and movies, I also use it to use social media so I can see what is happening in the world, and I also use the internet to play video games, and to talk to friends. I also use the internet to be able to complete these blogs, also sometimes I use the internet to complete school assignments, and if I ever need to know the answer to something I'll use the internet usually to find the answer.

  37. 1. The internet is a network of information that you can use to find anything and everything. No one single person can take down or break the internet, as everything is hosted on different servers.

    2. When the internet was first released to the general public, it was used for many different things. Scientists and researchers used it to transfer data to each other. Anyone could go into the web any retrieve any kind of information that was already on it.

    3. The "internet" started with 2 computers simply trying to send simple messages to each other. It evolved to be able to send actual information through a network to multiple outputs in different places. Eventually all networks became connected into a "web" known as the world wide web (www).

    4. I use the internet for many different things. I use it to browse memes, watch videos, and even connect to my friends. I use the internet this way because of two simple reasons; this is how it is supposed to be used and it's much easier than sending letters.

    2. How the internet is used has evolved over the years. Originally it was used by scientists and researchers to share data and communicate with each other. Today we use internet for almost anything.

    3. The internet has changed over the past years. When it first came out it was used for scientists to communicate with researchers but now it can used for games, videos, images, and a lot more. Now everyone can use it for info and enjoyment.

    4. I use the internet to play games, watch videos, and look at funny images for my entertainment, but I mainly use it for information and class work because it helps me out a lot.
