The Future of the Internet

1. What is this article about? (Explain in detail)

2. What is the future of the internet in your opinion? (Detailed answer)

3. Do you agree or disagree with Vint Cerf? (Why do you agree or disagree explain in detail)

  1. 1) The article is about Vint Cerf's idea of where the internet is going and how it will change with times. How it will break political and Earthly boundaries. It was all summed up in the last sentence when Vint said "We initially designed the Internet to be a network of networks that could expand over time. And so it has. And so it will".

    2) I think the future of the internet will be in AI and science. AI will have access to the internet making them smarter than most humans because of the ability to bring up almost any information from the networks of networks and use it to its ability. Science will enter the internet as the times keep getting closer and closer with the internet.

    3) I agree with Vint Cerf, IT will keep expanding and become the biggest database that we will ever know. It will be the main centerpiece of society.

  2. 1. The main concept of this article is related to the Internet of Things, and how the world is gradually becoming more and more tech focused. One of the biggest points brought up is that only 3 billion people are connected, and from this point, we can assume that he wants to connect every single human on the planet to the internet.

    2. The future of the internet... it could be just about anything, really. There was no way to predict the rise of services like YouTube, or the smartphone, or Twitch, or any of the big "things" that changed the internet. In my opinion, there is no way to predict the "future" of the internet.

    3. After his explanation, I do agree with Vint Cerf; with the way that smart technology is going with cars, and refrigerators, and even to ridiculous things like belts and even plates, privacy will become a greater issue, and it sounds like his "bundle protocol" might serve quite well.

  4. This article is about the future of the internet and certain things we should expect to come. It briefly mentions the internet of things and an interplanetary network the spreads to the ISS. I think this article is a little late to the whole internet of things hype, but it definitely is where many devices are going, especially with RFID chips becoming cheaper and easier to run with senors to monitor data. This added with demanding battery capabilities enables every object dealt with in the industry to have a pointer to data about the object. I do agree with Vint Cerf that the future of the internet will be within internet of things and the industry is expanding. Also it mentions very briefly about internet expanding outside of just earth and to the ISS in the future, but it's already been like that for a while. That is internet history. There has been a satellite module on the ISS that communicates to ground for internet for a while. So, I am not quite sure what he is on about there. But, I do agree that the internet of things is the largest part of the expanding internet. Small devices connected to a host.

  5. 1. This article is about how the internet has grown and changed since it first started in 1983, and how so much technical progress has been made.

    2. I believe that the internet will be used, eventually, by everyone on the planet. Every year, technology grows more advanced, and more people are getting access to the internet, through mobile devices, so there is no doubt that, soon, everyone on Earth will have access to it.

    3. I agree with Vint Cerf, because his explanations are very logical. He convinced me that we are able to do anything with advancing technology.

  6. 1.the article goes over the creation of the internet and where it might be headed. It also covers what Vint Cerf thinks will happen in the coming years
2.As long as nations such as North Korea, who refuse progress on almost any level exist, the internet won't be used by everyone. It might be used by everyone ELSE but not all 7-8 billion, at least for a while.
3.Of course, he envisions a successful future for technology. He predicts that most of the world will be using technology within the near future which may or may not be true

  7. 1. This article is about how the internet is going to change in the next few years. Vint Cerf is know as a "father of the internet," was interviewed in the article about how he thinks his baby will change in the next few years. He said that the internet will spread to all devices known as the "internet of things."

    2. I think that the internet will continue to spread to all platforms, places and spaces and become quicker and quicker and bigger and bigger. I say this because it has not slowed down since it was born.

    3. I would have to agree with Cerf, his idea that the internet will only continue to spread to all devices makes sense. The internet can and will be used for so much more than snapchat and cat videos. I can't wait to see what's next.

  8. 1. The main idea is about the internet. Namely, the Internet of Things. Where objects communicate with each other to do simple taskes. (TO BE CONTINUED IN REPLY

    1. 1 (continued). This is a lot about Vint Cerf's ideas and visions of the internet and the future of said internet.
      2. I think there are 2 big futures for the internet. 1 being that everything is connected to the internet and you can control everything in your house with just your phone. The second being that it doesn't grow big. Seeing the flaws on the other future I see, it would be a very dangerous world. Anyone skilled with technology would be able to hack your entire house and make it do what they wanted, not the owner.
      3. I think the internet will grow, for better or worse. People are lazy. They want to be able to do things as easily and with as little effort as possible. So obviously, that would mean controlling everything with your mind. Or at least your phone. But there's still the threat of having everything in your house be up for grabs to hackers.

  9. 1) This article is about the internet and what it might grow to in the future. Vint Cerf, the so-called "father of the internet" (although no one can stake claim to the title of inventor of the internet), talks about what he believes the internet might become and what it already has become. He talks about how we use the internet to connect with people around the world and even with people not on Earth.

    2) I think that the future of the internet is unpredictable. No one was able to accurately predict what the internet could become 30 years ago, so any inferences made now can be completely wrong. I do think, however, that we are beginning to see just the tip of the iceberg on the potential with the internet.

    3) I agree with Vint Cerf, but only partially. He mentions that "There are only about 3 billion people online. It’s not everybody in the world, so there’s a lot of work to be done." implying that someday we might be able to connect everyone to the internet. I do not believe this to be possible. If we can't even provide clean water to the whole world, (more than 801,000 children died last year from unclean water and related diseases (CDC)) what makes us think that the internet will become available to everyone. If it were to happen, it certainly wouldn't happen within the next 50 years.

  10. 1. This article is describing how the term known as the ‘The Internet’ is becoming a thing we can’t live without and how the world is continuously evolving around it. We’ve gone leaps in the ways of technology thanks to it, and we only have four billion more people to connect to it, so we can become more efficient in all the daily tasks that we do. By connecting buildings, thermostats, ovens, and all other devices we’ll be able to do amazing things when we can see everything that’s in front of us on one receiver.

    2. The future of the internet will revolve around advancing and speeding up the way we do things as humans at this current point in time. Soon we’ll be able to naturally talk to AI and get the appropriate answers as if you had asked a human. There’s no knowing where the internet will take us, but it’s going to be an amazing ride finding out.

    3. With the issue of privacy, I believe he’s right; there will always be the issue that someone can abuse the technology we created ourselves, but we’ll just have to deal with it. If we want to advance ourselves and take leaps to Mars and back we’ll have to use the knowledge we have, and the knowledge that we’ll learn to get us there. Maybe it’s not necessary to connect every person in the world to the internet, as people don’t rely on it, just as we do.

  11. 1. This article is about how the internet was built and how it is expanding. He talks about how it will change over the next few years, and how it has changed in the past. The internet was built to be built upon, or added on to. A continuous work of art.

    2. The future will constantly evolve, and so will the internet. At a point, we will have everything in our house having internet capabilities, and poorer people will have computers, or some sort of connection to the internet. AI's will be built for homes, and they will be little servants of some sort.

    3. I completely agree with what he said. The internet has grown so much from the day it was created, it only makes sense that it would grow more. The only way I think it wouldn't would be because of governments trying to shut it down in order to shut down internet related crimes.

  12. 1. This Article is about the vice president of google talking about the internet expanding from what he created to what it is now and beyond. He also talked about the internet of things. He said the internet is meant to expand.

    2. The future of the internet is infinite in possibility, but it could be ended in something that breaks into privacy too far. The internet of things is possible and is showing up in the world today and what is connected to the internet will just expand and continue to from your dogs collar to your chimney.

3.I agree because their are so many possibilities with the internet that we are starting to tap into. Hopefully what he said will come to truth and will help the world expand together other than separate.

  13. 1. The article explains the future of the internet in terms of the past and where he believes that it might go. Vint Cerf believes that the internet will continue in a direction in the internet of things, connecting all of ones' devices to the internet in order to become smarter. Cerf also believes that everyday objects, buildings, and more will have more and more sensors added to them in order to interact with their users.

    2. Personally, I agree with Cerf. The internet is continually being connected to everyday objects, and as more and more people have smartphones, people will develop applications and hardware that will be able to interact with them. Thus, the internet of things.

    3. As I said in the last question, I completely agree. People absolutely love the nifty tricks they can perform with their devices, and so developers will never stop developing them. Accessiblity and convenience are the direction that the world is heading in, and technology is the best way to achieve both of these.

  14. 1. The article is about the past of the internet and whats in store for it future that Vint Cerf and what he thinks will happen. He believes that the internet will encompass more then just phones and computer he believes that it will move to cars, cities and people to do different things that it cant currently do. He also talks about interplanetary internet which is the bringing of the internet to space through nodes and a bundle protocol that expects breaks in the connection.

    2. The future is pretty much what he says that the internet will keep increasing more and more and will reach farther outside our own planet. The internet will become a larger system then it already is and that the future I see.

    3. I agree because all of his points are solid the internet is not gonna stop anytime soon because its only gonna get faster and more accessible then ever before and the Internets reach is going to be farther then it is now because of interplanetary internet to send the info to the stars.

  15. 1. The article narrates the change in internet function and capabilities. A man by the name of Vint Cerf who is regarded as "the father of the internet" speeaks about what he believes we will see in the future. He explains how the internet of things will expand across everything imaginable.

    2. Its hard to say what we will be seeing tin the future. The reason why I believe it is difficult lies in the inventors themselves. If all ideas come from the mind of inventors, I couldn't even guess what people will think up.
    3. I 100% agree that the internet will continue to expand. It is one of the most impacting ideas that humanity has ever seen. I'm looking forward to the changes ahead.

  18. 1. This article is describing the growth of the internet and how far it has come in the past 30 years. It talks about how science fiction back then, is now ordinary regular life. The author also covers the potential the internet has to expand far past earth. The author quotes Google's Vice President, Vince Cerf throughout the article. He explains how privacy and security will be a growing issue as we become more connected.

    2. In my opinion, the internet will increasingly grow and be readily available in high speed any where you go on earth, and as time passes, the solar system, and maybe even the galaxy.

    3. I agree with his statements, as for the past 30 years all the internet has done has become more abundant and made everything connected. I think this trend will continue as the internet progresses.

  19. 1. The article is about Vint Cerf, the Father of the Internet, and how he thinks it will evolve over the next few decades. Cerf talks about how it was science fiction thinking you’d be able to carry around the internet in your pocket some day.Just about 30 years later it’s the social norm to have a smartphone or some sort of device to do much more than go on the internet. Cerf believes sometime in the future people and building s and everything around use will be hooked up to the internet in some sort of cyborg way. He mentions that security and privacy during those times would be difficult and they would need to come up with solutions to it now before it ever comes to happen.

    2. I believe the future of the internet is really just making it simpler and easier to use for everyone. Something that anyone could just pick up and learn in a day. The internet needs to be faster and more reliable than it is right now, with much more opportunity involved it. I think the future of the internet will really just rely on everyone using everyday for every little tasks. Not to the point where we’d be useless without it, but it makes doing jobs safer and faster.

    3. I don’t exactly agree with Vint Cerf’s ideas. The way he seems to envision the future of the internet and technology all together makes it sound like he thinks we should just become cyborgs and create androids instead of normal human beings. I don’t think that’s where this is all headed, but rather in a direction where we can get dangerous jobs done a lot safer like I said before. I like to think of the internet as a tool that helps us throughout our day, not something that’s a part of us.

  20. 1. This article is about the internet and how it's constantly expanding and how the internet is meant to expand over time. This man talks about how the internet is expanding at all times no matter what is expanding something is always evolving in the internet.

    2. I think the internet is going to be more useful and simpler for all users and people will continue to make the internet a more user friendly place for anyone at all ages. It's going to be faster and more accurate for people when searching things and maybe even more then that.

    3. I agree with Vint Cerf and the way he envisions the internet in the future makes perfect sense. All of his claims are logical and make perfect sense in my mind, and will continue the way he visioned it in the future

  21. 1. The article is about how the internet started, how it has evolved, and how it will keep evolving. It talks about some of the ways that the internet may expand in the future.

    2. I think the internet will expand to become something that connects people everywhere. How ever it will get even more out of hand than it already is first.

    3. I agree with Vint Cetf because the internet has expanded to do some amazing things and will continue to do so in the future.
